STEEMCHURCH: KEEP OURSELVES IN PRAYER

Persevere in prayer, watching over it with thanksgiving. (Colossians 4: 2)

As soon as we open the Bible we find numerous passages where prayer is the protagonist "Then men began to call on the name of the Lord" (Gen. 4:26). And shortly before finishing the Book, we find the amen of a burning supplication. There are innumerable we find Jacob struggling, examples: Here we find Jacob fighting, there Daniel who prays three times a day, and David beyond that he cries out to God with all his heart.

In the mountain we see the prophet Elijah, in the dungeon, Paul and Silas. We have multitudes of commandments and myriads of promises from God. What else teaches us this, but the sacred importance and the need for prayer? Let us be sure that whatever God has emphasized in his Word, he wants it to occupy an important place in our lives.

If you have talked a lot about prayer, it is because you know that we need it. So great are our needs that until we get to heaven we must not stop praying.

A soul without prayer is a soul without Christ. Prayer is the babbling of the child in faith, the cry of the believer who fights and the music of the saint who dies and sleeps in Jesus. Prayer is the breathing, the slogan, the comfort, the strength and the honor of the Christian.

If you are a child of God, you will seek the face of your Father and live in his love. Ask God to grant you to be holy, humble, jealous and patient. Have a more intimate communion with Christ and enter more often into the banquet of his love.

Ask Him to give you an example and a blessing to others, and to help you live more for the glory of the Master. The key word for today year should be: "Persevere in prayer."

There are many people who take prayer as an annoying moment or until the preamble to sleep but the truth is that the prayer has much more power than we can imagine, we get closer to God through a prayer, we receive salvation through of prayer, we will maintain our holiness through communion in prayer and we will definitely keep our lives in eternity in prayer.
