The lost sheep.

in #steemchurch5 years ago

"Then he told them this parable, saying: What man of you, if he has a hundred sheep and one of them is lost, does not leave the ninety-nine in the desert and goes after the one that was lost, until he finds it? He finds it, puts it on his shoulders joyfully, and when he gets home he gathers his friends and neighbors, and says: Enjoy with me, because I have found my sheep that had been lost, I tell you that there will be more joy in heaven for a a sinner who repents, than for ninety-nine righteous people who do not need repentance."

Greetings my friends from steemit.

The pastor of this parable is the great Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We are the sheep. He had 100 sheep and one of them was lost. Frankly, starting with 100 sheep and finishing with 99, was a pretty good percentage. However, this Pastor was not satisfied with only 99 sheep. When one of them was lost, he went looking for her. When he found it, he placed it on His shoulders, which was the place and symbol of strength. He was and is able to save forever.

The high priest of the Israelites wore an ephod, which was an ornament that he wore over his tunic. Two carnelian stones were attached to the shoulder pieces of the ephod. In each of them were engraved the names of the 12 tribes of Israel, 6 names in each. In that way, the high priest symbolically carried the Israelites on his shoulders. So too, our Great High Priest takes us on His shoulders, and we will not lose ourselves. When the shepherd started with 100 sheep, he will come to the end with those 100 sheep. This parable is a figure of the Lord Jesus Christ who seeks those who belong to him.

If you are the son who went to the distant country, you can return to the Father confessing your sins. Or maybe you're like the older brother, who was out of an intimate relationship with his father. He had no love or interest in his brother. He thought he was serving God, because he had not broken the rules, like his brother. But he had never enjoyed a party with his friends. The Father had told him: "All my things are yours." How wonderful to have such a father!

Friends of steemit, if you have never trusted Jesus Christ as your Savior, you are not in the Father's house. You can only become a child by placing your faith and trust in Jesus Christ, who died for you. If you accept Christ and come to Him, God will truly be your Father and will never throw you overboard, as popularly said. If you ever leave him, and one day you come back, he will be waiting for you to surround you with His arms. Do not you think it's worth having a Father like that?

Thank you my dear friends of steemit God bless you.

"The good son returns home" we usually say.
God awaits with open arms all his children, HE does not want us to walk in perdition, but restored as children of the King of Kings. Good message brother!
