Norman Vincent Peale was wrong. He believed that you could create your own reality. His view is that if you need a car you shouldn't just pray for one. You should imagine the exact make and model of the one you want and that you can make that happen. It's not true. It's New Age thinking or pagan thinking. They're the same thing.
