In the New Testament, the apostle Paul speaks of the priesthood of the Church

1 Timothy 2: 1-4

1 I exhort above all, that prayers, prayers, petitions and thanksgivings be made for all men; 2 for the kings and for all who are in eminence, so that we may live quietly and peacefully in all piety and honesty. 3 For this is good and acceptable before God our Savior, 4 who wants all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.

So, what is the priesthood of the Church?

In the first place, it consists of intercession, since true intercession is born from the heart of God, is received by the heart of the man who brings it to God to intervene.

Second, it consists of prayers for all men and especially for those in authority. When the Church no longer plays its priestly role, it takes responsibility for the political disasters that occur in the nation. As kings and priests according to the order of Christ (order of Melchizedek) we have access to the heavenly places, we are sitting in them (in the Old Covenant it was not like that, the Levitical priesthood had no access to the heavenly places), so we have authority over all that happens in the second heaven.

The world can know the sacrifice of the cross only if the Church preaches the Gospel of the Kingdom! If the priestly ministry does not work in the Church, people are not blessed, but when the Church works, she is blessed and, consequently, the world is also blessed! Why this? Because the mission of the Church is to bring the world to the Truth, it is not an end in itself!

Isaiah 56: 7

I will take them to my holy mountain, and I will recreate them in my house of prayer; their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; because my house will be called a house of prayer for all peoples.

By reading this verse, we can understand that being a priest means leveling up and learning to live the love of God for others, because those who live on the mountain see what is happening around them and pray!
