THINGS THAT WILL KEEP YOUR LOVE STRONG (FOR COUPLES)

Hello steemians, its been a wonderful time once again, and am grateful to God Almighty if not for anything but for the gift of life which gives me the opportunity to blog again.
Am still on the series tagged Things to do to keep your love strong, and i shared some important points in my previous post. But today am going to talk extensively on three keys/points. So relax and enjoy it, please go through the post again till you understand the message.

THINGS TO DO TO KEEP YOUR LOVE STRONG
i. EXERCISE TOGETHER
To live well, couples should endeavour to do exercise from time to time. Exercising your body will not only help you be strong but also make you look fit and young. You dont need to need to become too old for your age. Doing exercises may not be an everyday event, but endeavour to do so periodically and consistently. Fifteen minutes in a day may just be good enough depending on your nature of job or business. You may not even have the time to go to the gym, but you can still do some exercises in your house. In 1 Timothy 4:8, the Bible states:

For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

Even though the profiting is little, it is very important. Don't ever play with your health. Give it priority. If you are on medication, don't play with it. More importantly, believe God for total healing and good health.

ii. TAKING DECISIONS TOGETHER
Decision taking is daily requirement in any marriage. There is always something to be decided upon by couples. That is why it is very important that couples are first and foremost good friends. This will enable them to talk about anything and everything. Line of communication must remain open always. As long as you can communicate, there is every possibility that you will be able to handle many issues that could have degenerated into strife and disagreements.

There is power in taking decision together. Besides the fact that it promotes trust and unity, it also secure divine intervention whenever God is brought into any situation. That is why the Bible declares in Matthew 18:19,

Again i say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that shall ask, it shall be done for them of My Father which is in heaven.

REASON WHY SOME COUPLES FIND IT DIFFICULT TO TAKE DECISIONS TOGETHER:

1. Lack of trust
2. Uncooperative attitude by one or both parties in a relationship.
3. Nagging
4. Shouting at one another.
5. Lack of respect
6. Past failures from the advice by one of the parties.
7. I know it all attitude by one of the parties.
8. Unnecessary dependence on third parties before taking decisions.
9. Unresolved disagreement between the couple.
10. Pride.
11. Unforgiveness
12. Constant rejection of the other person's good advice.
13. Bringing in an advice that is unspiritual etc.

As couples, we must recognise that we are not equally talented and our level of maturity are not the same. Also, the way we see things may differ at times. However, if we could get married, then some things must have brought us together. It follows therefore that if we allow God and submit ourselves to divine instruction, we can have the best of God in your marriages.

From the foremost, couples must note that no reason is good enough for them not to take decisions together. Irrespective of any differences, couples should learn to resolve issues on time, forgive one another and put the past behind. Dont allow any factor hinder you from seeking the opinion of your partner on issues that affect your family.

iii. ACCEPT EACH OTHER
In Amos 3:3, the Bible states:

Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

It takes agreement for two individuals to flow well. To do this, learn to accept the reality that your partner may have some personal traits that are peculiar to him or her. Allow the love that you have for one another during your courtship to sustain and strengthen your relationship.

As mush as possible, capitalize on your areas of strength and dont major on your areas of weakness. Choose to overlook some things. Look for ways to complement one another. Dont make the mistake of focussing to much on the weakness of your partner. That does not mean you should not correct one another; but doing so, do it with love.

It is also good to state that no one should be comfortable with personal weakness without working on them. That means everyone of us should do our best to improve on our character and everything that will make our love last forever. Don't ever celebrate weakness. It is not good enough claiming every now and then that a particular flaw is your personal weakness and there is nothing you can do about it. The weakness you allow to rule you may eventually ruin not only your marriage but also your destiny.

There is enough power in Christ to overcome personal weakness. Trust God for such power. Pray about that weakness. Take to correction. Do your best to make your partner happy by avoiding making the same mistake over and over.
