The Widow's Mite... Something that Today's Church will Ignore.
Now Jesus looked up and saw rich people dropping their gifts into the offering box. Then he saw a destitute widow drop in two small copper coins. He said, “I tell you with certainty, this destitute widow has dropped in more than all of them, because all the others contributed to the offering out of their surplus, but she, in her poverty, dropped in everything she had to live on.” Luke 21:1-4

I had a little conversation with a a friend of mine who is a pastor about offerings, seed sowing and fundraising in our churches today.
We talked about how the church has now turned into business where a lot of attention is giving to people who have more to give in return for what the pastors offer(their blessings, special anointing, special prayers, prophetic words etc)
Nowadays is like more preference is giving to those who can give more whiles those who have the widows mite to give are giving less attention and often times ignored completely.
It is very pathetic to see the church going this way when the one who established the church(Jesus Christ) look not at how much we give but how we give wholly from our heart to him.
Carnality and materialism has taken over the church of God to the extent that men of God now look out for people who can give more during offering and fund raising time.
If you happen to be a man of affluence in the church then you are sure of receiving accolades for what you give and entitled to a position in the church.
Pastors will love you and everyone at the church will praise you and respect you so much for you are seen as the one who is really supporting the ministry work.
It would have been hard for this widow to be noticed and be blessed if not for Jesus who doesn't look at how much people give but the heart of which they give.
I believe this poor widow would have been ignored for that two mites in many of our churches today.
Man always looks at the outward but God looks at the heart. We should never see anything as small, God will appreciate it as long as is our all, from the heart and is giving willingly.

What you have said here is absolutely true. Most Churches in the world today ever since the midieval times, has been praising the person who gives more money to the church than GOD himself. It is blasphemy, but they can't see it.

yes.. ministers of God are now doing business on the church instead of preaching the Gospel
We are in the field here and souls and disciples are our one goal. The Great Commission! Even this business as you call it is taking away funds from where the real work happens and is used to build some man’s dream or kingdom.
You have to know that not what one has in abundance determines his/her salvation in the Kingdom of God, but whoever does what pleases with the God almighty. Thanks for this great message!

Corrupt churches always chase money. In my church the pastor doesn't know what people give. The church doesn't cater to the people with the most money.
