CHARACTERISTICS OF THE PERSON OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
In the previous study on Who is the Holy Spirit? we come to a conclusion that is a person who has intellect, emotions and will. In the present study, we will deal with "other characteristics of the Holy Spirit" as a wonderful person of the trinity.

The Word of God says in Galatians 4: 6: "And because you are sons, God sent to your hearts the Spirit of his son, who cries out: Abba Father!"
From the depth of your soul, the Holy Spirit is the one who helps us to acclaim and glorify the father. This experience is notorious when we pray or we find ourselves worshiping the father.
In the church of Antioch while the believers worshiped the Lord, "the Holy Spirit said: Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them" (Acts 13: 2). It is impressive, as they worshiped the word that the Spirit spoke to the believers of the church of Antioch. Then, the Holy Spirit is a person who speaks with an audible voice.

It is extremely dangerous to sin after having received the knowledge of the truth. In the book of Hebrews the author asks: "How much more punishment do you think it will merit who tramples on the son of God, and considers the blood of the covenant in which he was sanctified unclean, and makes an affront to the Spirit of grace?" (Hebrews 10:29). The word "affront" carries the idea of "dealing with total disdain or insulting arrogance". When we do not appreciate the meaning of Christ's death on the cross, we grieve the Holy Spirit.

In the old testament, God had already given Moses a commandment to the people of Israel about "not lying" (Leviticus 19:11). The purpose of the decree was not only to guide relationships with men, but also with the Holy Spirit.
In the New Testament we find a more serious and more delicate situation that resulted in the death of two believers known as Ananias and Sapphira. They had sold an inheritance and pretended to give all the money to the Lord, when in reality it was only a part. Peter said: "Ananias, why did your heart fill your heart so that you would lie to the Holy Spirit and steal the price of the inheritance?" (Acts 5: 3), "Why did you put this in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God" (v.4). Ananias and Sapphira fell dead after sinning against God for lying to the Holy Spirit (v.5, 9,10).
The Holy Spirit is a person, he can be lied to, but the consequences are fatal, it can lead to physical and spiritual death.
The person of the Holy Spirit is characterized by his intellect, his emotions, his will, he can speak, he can be offended, he can even lie with serious consequences for the believer. The characteristics of the Holy Spirit are varied, but those that we have seen can lead us to improve more and more our relationship with him and strengthen our communion with God the Father. Amen.
