Certain things that must be done to develop a Godly character
Today, I'm going to continue with my series on Developing Godly Character. This is the 4th of the series. If you have not been following, you can check the three previous series:

Today, I will be talking on the things that must be certain in order to develop a godly character
- CONVERSATION: Becoming regenerated is an issue that cannot be over-emphasized. Genuine repentance from the work of the flesh must be shown as an evidence of salvation
John 3:3 KJV
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Romans 3:23 KJV
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Romans 6:23 KJV
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
- DETERMINATION: To develop a Godly character, you have to be determined. Daniel is a typical example of self-determination.
Daniel 1:8 KJV
But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.
BE OPEN: A tree cannot make a forest and no one is an highland of himself/herself. If you are going through any challenge, whether physical or spiritual, it's always better to make it open to brethren before it destroys
BE STUDIOUS: You must be a student of the word of of God if you want to grow to become what God want you to become through reading, studying, meditating, memorizing and obeying the word of God.
Joshua 1:8 KJV
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
BE ACCOUNTABLE: You need the help of other matured believer who will serve as accountability partners in other to be more Godly. Look around you and choose some matured believer and make them accountability partners.
WALK IN THE SPIRIT: Walking in the spirit always will help you from the control of flesh.
Galatians 5:16 KJV
This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
- SELF-EXAMINATION: This is very important as you have to examine yourself from time to time so as to be a true light and salt that Jesus called us
Matthew 5:13-14 KJV
Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. [14] Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
- DILIGENCE: In whatever job, profession or career you find yourself, you must be diligent in all you do.
Proverbs 22:29 KJV
Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men .
FELLOWSHIP WITH OTHER BELIEVERS: For mutual growth in the Lord and to checkmate possible backsliding, you should have proper interaction with other believers. A child of God cannot grow effectively in isolation
DEPENDENCY ON THE HOLY SPIRIT: It is the power of the Holy Spirit that helps man to be Godly not by self-effort. You have to meditate on a daily basis and trust Him for inspiration.
