Gratitude

Dear friends

As disciples of Jesus we must develop attitudes of gratitude, be grateful to our Lord. In Acts of the Apostles and the epistles written by John and Peter, in James and Paul all overflow with generous expressions thanks to God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. And his gratitude to God is poured out in his appreciation for others and the people they served.

Giving "Thank you" are the most important words we can say. They are the language of a holy and healthy soul. Bless God, others and oneself. They help us to enter into the presence of God! (Psalm 100: 4)

Thanksgiving is the foundation of a lifestyle of worshiping God.

Jesus lived always grateful to God. And he expressed his thanks to God publicly for the benefit of others so that they can also learn to be grateful to God (John 11: 41-42).

Jesus thanks God as the Father who watches over all of his creation, including small sparrows that are considered of little value and wildflowers that were never seen by people (Matthew 6: 26-30). He thanked him for the food supply (Luke 24:30), for listening to him (John 11:41), and for the opportunity to minister to others (Matthew 14:19, 15:36).

Jesus began and ended his prayer with words of thanks and praise to his father and in the Lord's prayer he taught his followers to do the same (Matthew 6: 9-13). He even thanked God for the opportunity to sacrifice his life for the world (Matthew 26: 26-27).
