Present Suffering and Future Glory!

Romans 8 15-21

15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. 18 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. 19 For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. 20 For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.

Dear friends

God is so holy, so powerful, so incredible; however, he invites us to call him "Abba Father." Abba was a term of love, family, dependence used by Jewish children to address their parents. God, for the incredible gift of His Holy Spirit who lives in us, has given us this maximum gift of love, protection and care. Abba! Abba, dear! My God, My Lord, the Sovereign King of Heaven and Creator of the Universe is also my Abba!

In writing the apostle Paul refers to the periods of suffering that provide us with an understanding of what it means to have a close, personal relationship with the Father or a test of "the glory that will be revealed in us" for all eternity. Any pain that we suffer in our daily lives, will be nothing when seen from an eternal perspective and we are liberated to enter the glorious freedom of the children of God.

Not only the bodies of the believers will be redeemed, but all this physical universe, this land in which you and I live will also be redeemed. That is God's purpose, and He will carry it out. In reality we will change this old land for a new land, we will receive a new model of land, so to speak; where there will be no more sin, no curse because of sin, and he will not return to it. We will live a wonderful experience like this!

But, this is not yet a reality. Citizen representation institutions and international organizations have been trying for many years to make this world a reality, but it is increasingly evident that we do not have it, nor will we have it because of the current human resources. But Christ will make it a reality through His redemption. I will have a new body. This body that I now have is progressively wasting away and I would like to be able to exchange it for a new one. That will be a reality.
