LOVE GOD AND LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR

We thank God for this weekend and we thank him for another Sunday. Beloved as we start a new week tomorrow, I want as to have time and digest what am about to share with you today.

This afternoon I want to share with you about the theme;
LOVE GOD AND YOUR NEIGHBOR

Memory Verse: Mark 12:28-34

The Great Commandment
28 One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, "Of all the commandments, which is the most important?"
29 "The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.
30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.'
31 The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these." 32 "Well said, teacher," the man replied. "You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him.
33 To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices."
34 When Jesus saw that he had answered wisely, he said to him, "You are not far from the kingdom of God." And from then on no one dared ask him any more questions.

After God has destroyed the first generation of Israel in the wilderness because they refused to obey him. They chose not to listen to him, after he brought them from Egypt after so many years of slavery.

While on their journey to the Promise land, another generation of 6000 soldiers (they didn't count women and children) came up from the Israels.
Because of what the Lord has done for them, he wanted Israel follow him and obey his will no matter the situations they faced on their journey.

Moses was exiting (was old and facing death gradually) and he knew God was their only savior. Tho most of the people of Israel did not see the various miracles performed by God during their times at Egypt. (remember to love this God first) Moses wanted Israel to remember this great God always and to love him first than any other Gods they meet with all their heart, soul and strength.

The sacrifice Jesus christ did was a great sacrifice ever for every believer. It was more superior than the blood of Bulls and Goats that was sacrificed anytime one commits a sin.
When Jesus was exiting, the pharaces asked him are we suppose to pay tax and he showed them their coin and asked them who's picture was on it and they respond ceaser, so he said give ceaser what belong to him and to God what also belong to him.

Another group ask a man died, his elder brother took his wife as his, them later this elder brother also died and the woman got married again to their younger brother. So they asked Jesus who was going to take this woman as a wife at the end day. Jesus replied there is no marriage in Heaven.

Another person also asked Jesus what the greatest commandment of all the commandments of God and He replied, the greatest of all the commandment of all the commandments is to Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your strength.

And the second of all these commandments is to love your neighbor as yourself.
If you love God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your strength plus loving your neighbor as your self, then you can obey all the commands of God.

I pray that, the love we just read about will visit you and help you share this love with others.
May it takes seat in our hearts and at the last day we will say holy, holy, most high for such great love.
