Gifts for King Jesus
Matthew 2:11 And as they entered the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and falling down, they worshiped him; and opening their treasures, they offered him presents: gold, incense and myrrh.
Every Christmas the world celebrates the greatest gift that humanity has received, every December 25 we celebrate the birth of the savior of the world, the bible expresses:
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not be lost, but may have eternal life.
It is Jesus Christ the savior of the world, God moved by his love for humanity gave his only son to die for forgiveness of our sins, the most sublime act of love that the human being has ever seen.
Gifts for Jesus
If we think about all that Jesus means, the meaning of his sacrifice and what it represents for humanity, like the kings who came from distant lands to offer presents, we too, as a gesture of gratitude we should think every year to offer GIFTS to our king. The kings opening their treasures offered gold, frankincense and myrrh, we opened the treasure of our heart and brought to our feet our most precious gift. He does not demand many things from you but there are presents that would undoubtedly gladden the heart of God.
Matthew 12:35 The good man brings good things out of the good treasure of the heart; and the bad man, out of the bad treasure brings out bad things.
Gratitude and praise
Luke 17: 17-19 Jesus answered and said, "Is it not ten who are cleansed? And the nine, where are they? Was there no one who returned and gave glory to God but this foreigner? And he said to him: Get up, go; Your faith has saved you.
It is necessary to reflect on the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and to value all that it represents for the human being, but beyond that, for those of us who believe in God, who have witnessed the power of God and how he acts in us and our environment we should permanently Show an attitude of thanks to him. Ten lepers were healed but only one showed gratitude and returned to praise him, we are not ungrateful with God and we give a present of THANKS to our creator.
Commitment
Luke 10: 1-9 After these things the Lord also appointed seventy others, whom he sent two by two before him to every city and place where he was to go. And he said to them: The harvest indeed is great, but the workers are few; Therefore, pray the Lord of the harvest to send workers into his harvest. Id; Behold, I am sending you as lambs in the midst of wolves. Do not carry a bag, saddlebag, or shoes; and to no one salute on the way. In any house where you enter, first say: Peace be to this house. And if there be a son of peace there, your peace will rest on him; and if not, it will come back to you. And stay in that same house, eating and drinking what they give you; because the worker is worthy of his salary. Do not go from house to house. In any city where you enter, and receive you, eat whatever you put in front of you; and heal the sick that are in it, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
Lord Jesus commissioned these seventy giving precise instructions, do not take anything for the road, do not look for comfort, do not worry about anything for sustenance or things like that. They could have refused to work in these conditions, but they showed COMMITMENT to Jesus and his work. Today more than ever Jesus and his gospel need people committed to work in their work, those people who are willing to take their gospel in any favorable or unfavorable circumstances, you can offer God a gift of commitment so that the gospel continues to expand.
Obedience
Acts 2: 1-4 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all with one accord together. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, which filled the whole house where they were sitting; and tongues appeared to them, spread out like fire, settling on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit gave them to speak.
There is blessing in obedience! When Jesus was raised to heaven, he asked his disciples not to leave Jerusalem because not many days later they would receive the blessing of the comforter. Of so many people who followed Jesus Christ, only one hundred and twenty were obedient to the call and were believing that what Jesus Christ had promised he would fulfill, this fact made them privileged to be witnesses and direct recipients of that great blessing. You can decide to be OBEDIENT to the Lord as a gift to Christ this new year.
There are many present ones that we can offer to Jesus: Mary offering her TIME while her sister Martha worked in the chores of the house (Luke 10: 38-42), a woman brought a bottle of very valuable perfume, offered her their ASSETS to place at their disposal (Luke 7: 36-39), among many other gifts that Jesus Christ received. There are many things that we have received from God and we must be willing to do something for the kingdom of God.
Well said brother, we get used to demanding of God and we forget that he also deserves a gift from his children: time, love, affection and gratitude ...
