Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Excellent day for all the people who read this writing, especially my dear brothers of steemchurch. Convinced that the first church of the blockchain is the best futuristic strategy for the knowledge of biblical teachings, I join the initiative of the apostle @darlenys01 and today I bring you what is my point of view about the first beatitude.

For me the most beautiful promises that I find in the bible are locked in the sermon of the mountain, since this teaching is given directly by JESUS. To be blessed is to be doubly happy, but the Beatitudes contain a condition that many people sometimes obviate and this is: The Beatitudes are for those who live according to the will of God and here is the secret of our first beatitude to study: Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

People usually take this verse to the financial context, they analyze that this refers to poor people, lacking material resources, but if we study in depth we will realize that Jesus was referring to those people who recognized that without God they are nothing. To be poor in spirit is to recognize that God is our Father, that we owe everything we are to Him, that even our gifts and talents are given by Him, therefore they must be available to Him.

we are poor in spirit when we recognize that our source is God, means to be humble, a person willing to be transformed and directed by God. When we have this attitude we can then be confident in the inheritance that Jesus left us by telling us that the kingdom of heaven was ours.
