CASTING OUT OF DEMONS

in #steemchurch6 years ago

In the name of Jesus

(Mark 16: 15-18)

15 And he said to them, Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.

16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In my name they will cast out demons; they will speak new languages;

18 They will take serpents in their hands, and if they drink anything deadly, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will heal.

Jesus commanded us to preach to every creature. Many are sick, others oppressed and some demonized, it is out of love for them that we must learn to cast out the demons that torment them.
We must know that demons do not go out to mention or repeat the name of Jesus as if it were some magic formula, but they do so because we order them in the presentation of Jesus. This means in his name. We have been contributed as delegates or ambassadors of Jesus Christ to perform miracles and wonders in his name. It's not with your name, it's "in" your name.

(Acts 19: 13-17)

13 But some of the Jews, itinerant exorcists, tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus on those who had evil spirits, saying: I adjure you by Jesus, who preaches Paul.

14 There were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, chief priest, who did this.

15 But the evil spirit answered and said, I know Jesus, and I know who Paul is; but you, who are you?

16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was, leaping on them and dominating them, prevailed against them, so that they fled from that house naked and wounded.

17 And this was known to all who dwelt in Ephesus, both Jews and Greeks; And all of them were afraid, and the name
of the Lord Jesus was magnified.

The previous Biblical quote refers to the case of the seven sons of the priest Esceva who, having invoked the name of Jesus, did not see what they wanted to happen to a man possessed. Rather they were wounded by the unclean spirit and were forced to flee so as not to lose their lives.

A divided kingdom does not prevail

(Luke 11: 14-20)

A house divided against itself

14 Jesus was casting out a demon, who was dumb; and it came to pass that the devil came out, the mute spoke; and the people marveled.

15 But some of them said, "Beelzebub the prince of demons, cast out devils."

16 Others, to tempt him, asked him for a sign from heaven.

17 But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself is overthrown; and a house divided against itself, falls.

18 And if Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom remain? since you say that by Beelzebub I cast out the demons.

19 If I cast out the demons by Beelzebub, do your sons by whom they are cast? Therefore they shall be your judges.

20 But if by the finger of God I cast out the demons, surely the kingdom of God has come to you.

When we preach the Kingdom of God we are able to manifest signs and wonders, one of them cast out demons. To do so, a course is not necessary, it is enough to believe in the authority that the Lord has given us. By their fruits you will know them, the fruit gives testimony of us and the power that accompanies us of testimony of Him.

A kingdom can not be divided against itself. It is not Satan who casts out demons but us. We can not divide the kingdom of God. There are people who pretend to cast out demons but still have communion with them, practice things related to occultism, listen to what they do not owe or act incorrectly, thus stripping themselves of all holiness. We can not cast out demons and at the same time give place to the devil in our lives.

(1 John 3: 8)

8 He who practices sin is of the devil; because the devil sins from the beginning. For this the Son of God appeared, to undo the works of the devil.

Jesus came to undo the works of the devil. To cast out demons is to destroy one kingdom to establish another.

Ordering the demons

(Mark 1: 21-28)

A man who had an unclean spirit

21 And they entered Capernaum; and the Sabbaths, [a] entering the synagogue, he taught.

22 And they were astonished at his doctrine; because he taught them as one who has authority, and not as scribes.

23 But there was in the synagogue of them a man with an unclean spirit, who cried out,

24 saying: !! Ah! What do you have with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are, the Holy One of God.

25 But Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Be quiet, and come out of him!"

26 And the unclean spirit, shaking him with violence, and crying with a loud voice, came out of him.

27 And all were astonished, so that they argued among themselves, saying, What is this? What new doctrine is this, that with authority commands even the unclean spirits, and obey him?

28 And very soon his fame spread throughout the whole province round Galilee.

In this passage the episode is recounted when Jesus entered the synagogue and a devilish man began to shout. Jesus answered the devil and he was free. The devil in speaking did it in the plural as if it were many, while Jesus in reprimanding did so in singula. No matter how many they are, the important thing is that they must obey the given order.

(Luke 8 26-39)

The Gadarene demoniac

26 And they came to the land of the Gerasenes, which is on the opposite bank of Galilee.

27 When he reached the land, a man from the city came to meet him, demonized for a long time; and he did not wear clothes, nor dwell in the house, but in the tombs.

28 When Jesus saw Jesus, he uttered a great cry, and fell down at his feet and cried out with a loud voice: What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, do not torment me.

29 (For he commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man, for he had long taken possession of him, and they bound him with chains and fetters, but, breaking the chains, he was impelled by the devil into the deserts.)

30 And Jesus asked him, saying, What is your name? And he said: Legion. Because a lot of demons have entered him.

31 And they begged him not to send them into the abyss.

32 And there was a herd of many swine feeding on the mountain; and they begged him to let them enter them; and gave them permission.

33 And the demons, out of man, entered the swine; and the herd rushed down a cliff into the lake, and drowned.

34 And they that fed the swine, when they saw what had befallen them, fled, and went and told in the city and in the field.

35 And they went out to see what had happened; and they came to Jesus, and found the man from whom the demons had gone out, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind; and they were afraid.

36 And those who had seen him told them how the demon-possessed man had been saved.

37 Then all the multitude of the region round about the Gerasenes asked him to depart from them, for they were greatly afraid. And Jesus, entering the boat, turned around.

38 And the man from whom the demons came out begged him to let him be with him; but Jesus dismissed him, saying:

39 Go back to your house, and tell what great things God has done with you. And he went away, publishing throughout the city what great things Jesus had done with him.

This passage tells the story of the Gadarene demoniac, who claimed to be called Legion because he had many demons inside. No matter how many they are, if they are many or if there is only one, the treatment is the same: In the name of Jesus they are thrown out and they are subject. The spirits feel tormented by the presence of Jesus.

Discerning between the flesh and the spirit

(Galatians 5: 19-21)

19 Manifest are the works of the flesh, which are adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lust, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, anger, strife, divisions, heresies.

21 envy, homicide, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. Regarding this, I warn you, as I have told you before, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

To cast out demons you must have discernments in order to distinguish between a spirit and the flesh. There are people who listen to demons to make their carnivals, such as jealousy, fornication or strife, in a word, to sin. It is necessary to point out that many of these practices originate in the flesh, not in the demonic possession. you can not rebuke the works of the flesh, you must make them die.

The delegated authority

1) First I chose twelve and I delegate them as author.

(Mark 3: 13-15)

13 Then he went up the mountain, and called to himself those whom he wanted; and they came to him.
14 And he appointed twelve, to be with him, and to send him to preach,
15 and that they had authority to heal diseases and to drive out demons

2) Then he sent them instructing them to cast out devils

(Matthew 10: 1)

10 Then calling his twelve disciples, he gave them authority over the unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every disease.

The seventies also had the same power and authority to cast out demons

(Luke 10: 17-20)

17 The seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name.
18 And he said to them, I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.
19 Behold, I give you power to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the strength of the enemy, and nothing will harm you.
20 But do not rejoice that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.

Jesus heals a demon-possessed boy

(Luke 9: 37-43)

Jesus heals a demon-possessed boy
37 The next day, when they came down from the mountain, a large crowd met them.
38 And behold, a man of the multitude cried out, saying, Master, I beg you to see my son, for he is the only one I have;
39 And it happens that a spirit takes him, and suddenly he shouts, and shakes him violently, and makes him foam, and spoiling him, barely turns away from him.
40 And I begged your disciples to cast him out, and they could not.
41 Jesus answered and said: O faithless and perverse generation! How long shall I be with you, and will I endure you? Bring your son here.
42 And as the boy approached, the demon tore him down and shook him violently; but Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the boy, and gave it back to his father.
43 And everyone was amazed at the greatness of God.

(Matthew 17: 19-20)

19 When the disciples came to Jesus, they said, "Why could not we drive him out?"
20 Jesus said to them, "Because of your little faith; For verily I say unto you, That if ye have faith as a mustard seed, say to this mountain, Get thee hence out of the way, and it will pass away; and nothing will be impossible for you.

(Matthew 17:21)

21 But this kind does not come out except by prayer and fasting.

(Mark 9:29)

29 And he said to them, This kind can come out with nothing, but with prayer and fasting.

Let's remember :

1) Regarding fasting

(Mark 2: 18-20)

The question about fasting

18 And the disciples of John and those of the Pharisees fasted; and they came and said to him, Why do the disciples of John and the Pharisees fast, and your disciples do not fast?
19 Jesus said to them, "Can those who are on the wedding marry fast while the bridegroom is with them?" While they have the husband with them, they can not fast.
20 But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them, and then in those days they will fast.

Regarding prayer

The twelve disciples of the Lord maintained an excellent communion with Jesus Christ, they ate with Him, they walked, they branched in the boat, they slept and Jesus instructed them about the affairs of the Kingdom.

The one that is not against us, for us is

(Marcos 9:38-40)

Jesus Christ in this passage attacks the sectarianism that John had and leaves us a profound teaching that tells us: He who is not against us is for us. We must not prevent other people from creating and acting according to the word of God because they do not belong to our inner circle or our denomination.
