ATTRIBUTES OF GOD: God is Sovereign

God is supreme and He reigns over the universe with no restrictions. The devil and his agents are subject to God in everything. God has every good thing to offer us. In his master plan to deceive the world, especially religious people, the devil duplicates and counterfeits everything that God has to offer us. However, nothing is hidden from God and His plan goes on accordingly. The Word of God tells us where the dictator, called the Beast,will come from and that under Satan's power no nation will be able to war against the Beast. Satan eventually will have a worldwide counterfeit kingdom. Satan knows the weakness of man and will use man's volition to establish this pseudo-kingdom. As time goes on, Satan is becoming more and more vicious but still restricted by the presence of God the Holy Spirit who restrains him.

2 Thess. 2:6
And now you know what is restraining him [from being revealed at this time]; it is so that he may be manifested (revealed) in his own [appointed] time.

When the rapture takes place, the Holy Spirit will no longer restrain the evil forces and this will usher in the terrible tribulation. God‘s word tells of fallen angels or demons who were put into everlasting chains because they attempted to practice evil beyond God‘s sovereign restraint.

Jude 1:6 :
And angels who did not keep (care for, guard, and hold to) their own first place of power but abandoned their proper dwelling place--these He has reserved in custody in eternal chains (bonds) under the thick gloom of utter darkness until the judgment and doom of the great day.

Satan himself is limited to one place; that is, he is not omnipresent. But he has millions of fallen angels doing his evil work at his bidding. At present, he is accusing the believers day and night before God‘s heavenly court. But praise God, we have an advocate, even Jesus Christ, the righteous one, who stands in our place and justly defends us on the basis of his shed blood at the cross. The book of Job presents a good example of Satan‘s activity in this area.
The power of God is paramount. There is no one greater than the true God. Our hearts should thrill less as we read over and over again in the Bible such phrases as, ”God spoke.....Thus saith the Lord... It is written” But the most marvelous of'them all is, ”And God said, let us make man in our image” [Gen. 1:26].
The power of God is more than a defense against evil 'forces. God ‘never loses a battle to those that put their ‘ trust in Him. He is an ever present help. And more than that, He is Emmanuel God with us.
