THE SCRIPTURE IS FROM THE BOOK OF
JOHN 4:1-20

This is the story of how a woman encountered Jesus Christ Jesus left Judea and departed to Galilee but He needed to pass through Samaria. One word that touched me in that scripture is the word “needed”. He needed to go through Samaria. There seems to be other roads leading from Judea to Galilee and Jesus had gone from Judea to Galilee before and without needing to pass through Samaria. What was in Samaria at that point in time that Jesus must pass
through it to go to Galilee? It was because there was a woman there.

Jesus Christ the all seeing God, had seen through the eyes of the Spirit from where He was in Judea that a woman was in Samaria who was in pain, who was suffering in silence under the load of sin, harassed and helpless. The woman needed a divine encounter. The ministry of Jesus Christ was prospering in Judea at that time and His disciples were baptizing many people. Many were getting converted; yet because Jesus knew that there was a woman in Samaria who must be saved He decided to leave Judea and a successful ministry to go through Samaria on His way to Galilee.
He decided that He must meet this woman in order to save her. it is clear that the Lord Jesus Christ knew that woman and the problem she was passing through even before meeting her for the first time. In verses 16 to 18, Jesus told her to go and call her husband. While the woman simply said she had no husband, the Lord told her the details of her life problems. She had had five husbands, and even the one with whom she was staying at that time was not her husband.

Imagine a middle-aged woman (which she was likely to be) already having live husbands. The kind of agony and hardship she must have passed through in the hands of those five men is unimaginable. It was for the sake of this kind of woman that Jesus needed to pass through Samaria.

Could you also be passing through difficult situations? Are you suffering in silence under the load of sin and cares? Jesus is passing through this post to reach out to you just as He needed to pass through Samaria to rescue that woman. It is not because there is no other way for Him to pass through but because a person like you is there. He knows your need; He knows the trouble you are facing; He knows the situation of your life even though no one else may know. He knows that you are suffering under your load of cares, He knows that the problem you are having is too much for you even though you have tried to keep it to yourself. He has seen you in your situation; He has seen your problems and your needs and He has decided to pass through this medium because of you. He knows that He needed to face your situation particularly.
