Day # 1 - Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

in #steemchurch6 years ago

Grateful of God, on this day for allowing me to contribute to the challenge initiated by the Apostle Darlenys, for all the friends and brothers of Steemchurch.
Here is my contribution.

We have all been obliged to study the scriptures, in order to contribute a reflection on the "poor spirit" Blessedness phrases used by Jesus Christ to express congratulations to those people who have a quality or to maintain a pleasant attitude toward God. who identifies Biblically as the giver of life and happiness.

Jesus goes up with his disciples to the sermon on the mountain to present him with a new set of ideals centered on love and humility instead of force and imposition.

As is known, the tendency of man is to focus his interest on himself instead of longing to fulfill the will of the Lord.

The flesh is the means used by sin to keep the will under its control. Satan has not changed his strategy, and in the same way he acted with Eva, he does it with us motivating us in three areas of weakness.
According to 1 John 2:16, satan encourages:

The desires of the flesh, that is, provide for physical desires or appetites.

The desires of the eyes, inducing us to satisfy our desire to possess things and live in materialism, instead of in a life centered in the kingdom of God.

The vainglory of life, feeding our ego so that we live with pride and egocentrism.

That is why Jesus himself gives the privilege to his disciples, to sit them at his side, and explain to him what happiness was about, and to possess the kingdom of heaven.

Obviously, these considerations that I have mentioned about the areas of weakness of the human being have nothing to do with the principle that Jesus begins by introducing poverty of spirit.
I mention these characteristics so that we can understand that a poor spirit is the opposite of the exposed in the weaknesses of the flesh.

Spiritual poverty is a virtue of great value and honor for our beloved savior Jesus Christ. Spiritual poverty is not an external thing, but an internal condition, and is one of the essential principles of the kingdom.

A poor spirit is one who has emptied himself of everything that has been overwhelming his soul for years and is filled with the true fullness of God, is the mirror of the soul, because in that condition we show what we truly are in the kingdom of God, we show our temperament.

I firmly believe that when our Lord declared these principles, he was giving them in a sequence of order, remember that God is a God of order, why? - because Matthew presents the Beatitudes in a well-defined order, and I think that "poor in spirit" "It is the first attitude of the son of God, and from this first the others are separated

This characteristic said by Jesus is not natural, but spiritual, that is why being poor of spirit refers to those who have convinced themselves of their spiritual poverty, and seek God with all their hearts.

Are you poor in spirit?

Then you have a new heart, you have been aware of your misery and need, you have been touched by God, you are humble of heart, not of appearance. You are not haughty, presumptuous, proud, overbearing.

Isaiah 57:15 "For thus said the tall and sublime, the one who inhabits eternity, and whose name is the saint: I dwell in height and holiness, and with the broken and humble of spirit, to make live the spirit of the humble, and to quicken the hearts of the broken ones "

very good explanation @jenniferbrito the beatitudes are a way of life for Christians, when Jesus spoke them saying from now on they will have these promises so that they will be happy and happy in their walk as Christians.

Only the poor in spirit want to live in God’s kingdom because they know that they have nothing and are nothing apart from Jesus. Without poverty of spirit, we can endure only one ruler: Me! We will fight to the death to preserve our sovereign rule over our kingdom of one. We will continue to believe that what we want matters. We will continue to do what we think is best and live how we want to live and not allow Jesus to rule over us.
