Do you know that just one mistake, if not carefully handled, can destroy your destiny and that of your family no matter how wonderful your past was? In a game, one move can change everything; in relationships, one word can turn the tables; in war front, one mistake can ruin you forever, but it's good to know that there is always bad in good! However, who ever said there was good in bad? Listen: it was just one mistake of Adolf Hitler that caused the last World War. It was one mistake (talking) of General Obasanjo that landed him in General Abacha's prison house. Adam and Eve made just one mistake and it cut them off from eternal excellence.
Oh, I remember vividly in 1977, when Nigeria had one Godwin Odiye as the best defender in the National football team called, "The Green Eagles" then. In fact, he was acclaimed then as the best defender in Africa. Odiye made severals appearances for the senior Nigerian national football team, including FIFA World Cup qualifying matches, and played at the 1976 and 1980 Africa Cup of Nations finals. But during the all-important match, 1978 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Tunisia, Odiye mistakenly diverted the ball into his own net and that made Nigeria to lose by a lone goal.
Odiye became a villian instead of a hero. That one mistake wiped out his past glories and he became haunted by the slogan: "ODIYE'S OWN GOAL" which continue to haunt him for many years after retirement. Oh, please watch the words and actions you take daily. One business mistake can wipe out all your investments. One wrong word can create disharmony in your home. One sin can wipe out past integrity. (Ezekiel 18:24) create shivers down my spines:
But when the righteous turneth away from righteousness and committed inquity....., all his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned(remembered)....
As you go out always remember the one mistake of others. That trap of just one mistake is cut off from your life's pathway in Jesus Name.
