This morning before stepping out for school, mum taught me about the unseen power that is in my tongue

The greatest challenge of humanity is how to use the tongue.

Many people instead of building their lives by what the say, they destroy it.

She warned me never to speak both good and evil with my mouth at the same time.

She said, The greatest enemy of humanity is the tongue.

James 3:

If you could find someone whose speech was perfectly true, you’d have a perfect person, in perfect control of life.

A bit in the mouth of a horse controls the whole horse. A small rudder on a huge ship in the hands of a skilled captain sets a course in the face of the strongest winds. A word out of your mouth may seem of no account, but it can accomplish nearly anything—or destroy it!

The power to change unpleasantness into pleasantness lies in our tongue and the bible says,

Now let the weak say i am strong and let the poor say i am rich.

Nothing can happen in your life when it has not first happened in your words.

You not a product of what people say about you but what you say about yourself.

Listen i am not telling us to use positive confession to cripple our productivity but what am saying is that your words should always be in line with your words.

In John chapter 1:1&3 bible says

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Have you noticed that all of the creations of God came into existence at the sound of God's voice.

Bible say that every man was created after the image and likeness of God (black or white, African or American) all alike.
If we were created after the likeness of God then our words can do the same thing the words of God did.

Life and death lies in the power of the tongue.

James chapter 1:8 said that a double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
Now let me let us understand that what James was emphasizing about was not actually the instability of mind alone but also the instability of our words.

I have seen many people pray prayers that was never answered not because they didn't pray well but because after praying, with the same tongue the pray with they render their prayers effect less because of what they say after prayers regarding the same situation they prayed about.

Let's see just a few purpose for God creating the tongue.

Purpose of The Tongue

1. Our tongue is suppose to convert unpleasant situations into pleasant situations. Joel 3:10b

2. God uses our tongue to ordain strength unto Himself for the sake of our enemies. Psalms 8: 2

3. Our tongue is mean't to give God praise. James 3: 9

The greatest weapon of mass destruction in the church is the tongue. It has the capacity to tare down God's intervention in cases of impossibilities.

No community can grow when the people are busy using their tongue in the opposite.

I see the @steemchurch community moving to the next phase of her exploit if our esteemed parishioner, would give a a proper guide over tongue.
