The Value of Endurance --- Devotional
There are so many good values Christians aspire to possess. Who on this earth does not want to be known as a compassionate, gracious, or loving person? However, I do not believe there are very many people who long to endure. The word "endure" evokes images of hardship, because it is usually deals with the manner we cope with things or situations we do not like, such as pain, conflict, or sickness. If we could go through life without ever having to face difficulties, we would rejoice.
However, James says that we ought to consider it joy when we face trials. He is not saying that we should be joyful about the sufferings we encounter; rather, we should be joyful in what the Lord shall do in our various lives through hardship. All these situations we dread are the ways God uses to bring us to spiritual maturity, and the only way to obtain the good is to bear what seems bad from our point of view.
Think of it as an athlete who prepares for a marathon. He or she has to hit the streets and workout day after day regardless how of weather is, strictly follows training plans, and pushes through physical and mental exhaustion. If this was all he ever did, it certainly would be drudgery with no rewards. However he or she does it for the goals set before him.
When our aim is to grow in Christ and become who He desires us to be, we will find ourselves very willing to bear the pains—because the outcome will surely be worth it. We can be certain that every circumstance the Lord allows in our lives is intended to aid us develop something we spiritually lack. Bearing thus in mind enables us to submit to the choices God makes for us, and as we see our trails from the perspective of God, we can even rejoice in all that He is doing.

Thank you for sharing such a powerful message with us. Indeed our ability to endure is something which we should take seriously. Even outside the realms of the bible, if we fail to endure in all our life endeavors, rarely do were achieve success.

In trials and difficulties is where we learn to get rid of the bad, the end result is to help others to comfort and help them out of that situation similar to ours. Thanks for your brother publication.
