IT'S EITHER LOVE OR LUST

I bring to you peace from our Lord Jesus Christ the author and finisher of our faith. Here is another interesting topic i will like us (everyone) to deliberate on together, which I titled love or lust.

This generation are really making a whole lot of mistakes just because they fail to understand the difference between this two words. love and lust are related but the they are different. It's not a bad idea to love, of course it's very good and as a matter of fact, it is important. Even the Bible States that's the greatest commandment is to love your neighbor as your self. But then, there is a saying that when the purpose of a think is not known, abuse is inevitable.

1corinthians 13:13
"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth, it does not hold grudge. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails."(1corinthians 13:4-8).
This is the only one and true definition of love. Any other acts against these is not love be it at work, at home, among friends, in a relationship and so on. Love also endures all things.

1john 3:17 NIV:If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?
18: Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

The scripture is based on two solid truth: that we should love God with all our heart and also love our neighbor as ourselves.
Let love be Genuine, Sometimes we say, “Love is blind.” but God says, “No, love needs clear vision.” Our love requires an ability to judge well or else we will end up loving things we ought not to love and entering into relationships that are not good for us. Every of our choice is not a good choice, every if our jobs is not the best for us, and not every relationship is a good relationship so also not every friendship is a good one. Most importantly, you must know what is right and
Have the boldness to choose what you know it's right.

Oh you're thinking I've forgotten the other aspect right? Not really but it is good that we understand deeply the meaning of love so we will be able to differentiate it from lust when the need arose.
Lusts on the other hand are the cords which Satan binds with.

Lust is an immoderate wantonness of the flesh, a sweet poison, a cruel pestilence; a pernicious poison, which weakeneth the body of man, and effeminateth the strength of the heroic mind.

There exist various kinds of lust which includes: pornography, masturbation, fantasy, flirtation, sexting etc and all of them are damaging.

AMP:For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh [craving for sensual gratification] and the lust of the eyes [greedy longings of the mind] and the pride of life [assurance in one’s own resources or in the stability of earthly things]—these do not come from the Father but are from the world [itself]. 1john 2:16

Now, according to 1john 2:16, lust is not all about sexual desire but also greedy longing of the mind and the pride of life. There's nothing wrong with sexual desire because God himself made the pleasure as long as it is not attached with lust in our heart, it is one of the powerful God's divine capacity and we should not abuse it.

What lust does: lust makes passion go wrong, lust indulges in self gratification without regards to others.

How do you overcome? Confess your lust to God and also ask him to show you the causes of your lust and the root of the problem. Also ask him to help you to overcome them.

Brethren, God can give us can give us victory over lust only if we can talk to him about it and flee from it with the mind set that we will never go back to them. Take a bold step of faith and be free for ever.
