joy from above

When Nehemiah was addressing the children of Israel in Nehemiah 8:10, he assured them that the joy of the Lord is their strength. Many till today fail to understand Nehemiah. The Joy of the Lord is truly the strength of them that has total believe in God. When you spend so much time in a particular place, you start smelling like that place. When you spend time close to fire, you start smelling smoke. In the same manner, if you spend so much time in God's presence, you experience immeasurable joy because in His presence is fullness of Joy

There is a reason why the devil is always after our happiness. This is because you don't attract God's attention by weeping. You only connect with God in praise, worship and thanksgiving. So when you cry, it means you don't believe that God is capable of handling your situation.

Isaiah 12:2-3 says:

Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.

"God is my salvation"

"With JOY shall I draw water from the well of salvation"

The two statements from the passage reaffirms that we have to approach God's presence with joy in order to draw from the abundance of His Glory. God is not unrighteous to forget your labour of love. He is ever present in the time of need, you're never alone. So approaching Him with a joyful heart even when the situation seems rough shows that you have faith that He can do exceedingly, abundantly above, all you could ask or think of

Don't allow situation to determine the state of your mind, always rejoice. When the devil want you to cry, you smile. And when people prosecute you for God's sake, you laugh. The reason why you should smile is not because of what they've done, but because of what the power you carry can do. Always remember that without faith, no man can please God.

Isaac came through laughter. When the Angel appeared to Sarah and told her she would conceive and bear a son. She LAUGHED. She knew it was biologically impossible for her to bear a child. I'm very sure the devil would be shocked by her laughter. Laugher destabilizes your enemies. When they expect you to cry, and you're laughing, it makes them wonder. It confuses them.

Job 5:22 the Bible says that at destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth.
Though it is never easy to put up smiles in difficult times. But when you make it a habit to always make the situation God's battle, you'll always smile and gain victory.

Take a second look at anyone that always frown, you'll discover that the face is always old. Laughter and joy makes you look younger. No joy, no life. This is confirmed in the scripture below.

Joel 1:12 The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered: because joy is withered away from the sons of men
