Tenacity is the quality that helps us face adversity, those difficult moments that are part of the reality of life. It is necessary for all of us, especially Christians, to approach and handle adversities with wisdom so that we overcome them.

The Word of the Lord says it in Psalm 37: 23-25, in one of my favorite verses:

"The steps of the righteous are ordered by Jehovah, and he approves of his way: When a man falls, he will not be prostrated, because Jehovah holds his hand: I was young, and I have grown old, and I have never seen the righteous forsaken, nor his offspring who beg bread."

Look carefully at what it says: God is the one who holds us by His hand.

Now let's see how the wise Solomon expresses it in the book of Ecclesiastes 7:14:

"In the day of good he enjoys good, and in the day of adversity he considers, God did both one and the other, so that man will find nothing after him."

On the day that things are going well, enjoy good; But in the day of adversity, do not get frustrated, do not look back, do not stop. In the day of adversity, what you have to do is consider.

Think: What is behind this problem? What is the reason why I am going through this situation? What do I have to learn? What do I have to see?

Let's reread the last part of that verse:

God did both one and the other, so that man will find nothing after him. God does every day; but there are days when adversity comes, and days when good comes. All God wants is that after each day, you find him.

Behind the day of joy, God wants you to find it; behind the day of adversity, also find yourself
with Him. No matter what you experience in your life, the goal should be to find Him at all times.

Unfortunately there are people who live outside the spiritual reality, and what is the truth of the Word of the Lord.

When God has taken you to enjoy privileges, you tend to forget what happened when you were on another level. You even overcome countless situations, God has blessed you, God has prospered you, and you think that everything is fine and you have no problems.

You do not realize that the reason you are there is because it was God who took you to the other side.

You must never forget where God took you from, let alone stop praying. You have to know that at some given moment, life itself will make you reflect on the privilege you have, and how you came to that place. You live involved in your illusions, without understanding that at some point you will face problems, and you will see the fragility of our humanity, which needs the power of God to rise again. Adversity traps us at the most unexpected moment.

"But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the excellence of power is of God, and not of us."

If you were to keep a treasure, surely you would not choose a clay pot. Why? Because of the fragility of the clay vessel. Maybe you would put it in a safe, somewhere that is strong and hard to access. Nevertheless,
the greatest treasure God put in clay pots, demonstrating the fragility of humanity, and the need we have of Him.

Our life is fragile.

Today we are on a path, and tomorrow we can go in another direction. The circumstances of life can make us change in a few moments. Let's read what the Word says in 2 Corinthians 4: 8-9:

"... we are troubled in everything, but not distressed, in distress, but not desperate, persecuted, but not forsaken, demolished, but not destroyed;"

There are definitely times when we are going to face adversity and human frailty. There are times when we will go through difficult times, and we will see our weaknesses.

When those moments arrive, they magnify our weaknesses, our sorrows, our anger, and those things that we did not know were inside of us. Sometimes there are so many difficulties, that you can not stand the pressure anymore. You who were strong, you who tried to be firm, to continue forward and be the strength of others, comes the moment when you fall apart because life shows you your fragility. What we sometimes forget, or simply do not realize, is the capacity that is in the spirit of each one of us.

Perhaps, like some, you have been broken by adversity. Maybe the worst circumstances in life have brought out the best and the strongest of you. Adversity may have confronted you with the fact that life is fragile, changing and hard. But with what sometimes you do not count is with the capacity of the Spirit in you.

It is not until we go through a moment of adversity or difficulty, that we realize what we are capable of doing. It is at that moment that the fragility of the vessel where God deposited his treasure manifests His power, and you see yourself, not only in front of your fragility, but to a capacity that you did not know you had. Adversity confronts you with your fragility, but also with a power that you did not know you were inside.
Even if adversity manages to shake you, you can never know your maximum potential while you are living good times. The day you have to face the biggest difficulties is when you will realize that you are capable of doing what you thought you could not do. Then you will recognize the power that is inside you, in your spirit. Then you will realize the strength that is within you, and what you can do thanks to Him, and to the glory of Almighty God.

Perhaps you are living a moment where life has confronted you with the fragility of your humanity, God wants to show you the power that is in the spirit that is within you. His power in you is going to rise like a strong and powerful giant, and you will be able to do things you never thought you could do before. From the situation you are living, God will raise you up and when you leave, you will not be the same person; you will not be a broken vessel.

You will be a person who will live for the glory of God because from that day you will learn to walk, not in the power of your humanity, but in the power of the Almighty God's strength.

There will be a moment when you wake up. Adversity has made you see how fragile and hard life is; It has made you see how things can change in an instant. Give time for adversity to show you how great it is inside you. After so much fighting to survive, the only thing you deserve is to live.

Maybe the moments you've had have made you see that the things that you thought were stable around you, are no longer. Those moments will also bring out the best in you. And after having fought so much in your life, the best you can decide is to have a complete life of success, power and victory.

Say to yourself: "What I am going through will bring out the best in me." If you think about how difficult life can be, go to chapter 11 of the second letter to the Corinthians and see what Paul went through. Read what verses 16-24 say:

"Again I say: No one thinks me crazy, or otherwise, receive me as a fool, so that I also boast a little." What I say, I do not speak according to the Lord, but as in madness, with this confidence I will boast of myself, since many people boast according to the flesh, I will also glory, because you willingly tolerate fools, being sane.

For you tolerate if someone enslaves you, if someone devours you, if someone takes what is yours, if someone exalts himself, if someone slaps you. To my shame I say it, for that we were too weak. But in what another has audacity (I speak with madness), I also have daring. Are they Hebrews? I also. Are they Israelites? I also.

Are they descendants of Abraham? I also. Are they ministers of Christ? (As if he were crazy, I speak.) Me more; in more abundant jobs; in whips without number; in prisons more; in danger of death many times. Of the Jews five times I received forty lashes minus one. "

How many times did Jesus get hit, 39 times? A. How many times did Paul receive 39 lashes? Five. Let's continue reading in verse 25 to 30: Three times I have been beaten with rods; once stoned; three times I have suffered shipwreck; One night and one day I have been like a castaway on the high seas; on roads many times; in dangers of rivers, dangers of thieves, dangers of those of my nation, dangers of the Gentiles, dangers in the city, dangers in the desert, dangers in the sea, dangers among false brethren; in work and fatigue, in many sleepless nights, in hunger and thirst, in many fasts, in cold and in nakedness; and in addition to other things, what crowds me every day, the concern for all the churches. Who is sick, and I am not sick? Who is tripped over, and I am not unworthy? If it is necessary to glory, I will glory in what is my weakness.

If someone had learned to live despite adversity, flogging, problems and difficulties, it was the Apostle Paul.

He said: If I'm going to boast of something, it's my weakness. Because at the moment in which my humanity is shown, it is the moment when the power of God is shown (2 Corinthians 12: 9 NLR 1960, paraphrased by the author).

Everyone in this life has difficulties. You may have been whipped once and shipwrecked on another occasion. The important thing is that in the midst of each adversity and facing your weakness, make the decision to believe in the power of the strength of the God that is within you.

He becomes strong in your weakness, and it is He who will take you to reach the destiny that He has promised you.

Probably, the adversity that you have been living has made you sad, frustrated and even angry. However, that same adversity that you are living will show the world how great it is inside you. You can not allow the problem you are going through to only demonstrate your humanity.

If the problem you have today only shows your humanity, you have really lost everything God wants to do with you. Life is fragile, but the power that is inside you is greater than you have ever thought.
