Hello friends of steemchurch, greetings to all and at the same time I take this opportunity to congratulate you for the creation of this initiative with the fulfillment of God's wishes, helping the members of this community, a greeting and admiration to our great sirknight, enterprising man, intelligent and brave.

In this opportunity I present some small ideas of how to make a small breeding of chickens and eggs.

It is important to know and apply the techniques for the breeding of 25 Creole chickens under grazing conditions for the small individual producer or indigenous communities, in order to enhance the production of meat and eggs and to improve the standards of this breeding.

There are known techniques but little applied to maintain a small breeding of Creole chickens of double purpose in field conditions, semi-free, since there are animals adapted to the climate, food, diseases and housing conditions that occur in these breeds.

There are known techniques but little applied to maintain a small breeding of Creole chickens of double purpose in field conditions, semi-free, since there are animals adapted to the climate, food, diseases and housing conditions that occur in these breeds.

Advantages of this procedure

Ease of breeding in field conditions.
Birds resistant to diseases.
This breeding is a means of providing meat and eggs for peasant families.
Little investment in external inputs.

The raising of homemade poultry is a good resource to have a source of animal protein for the small producer. Meat and eggs It is advisable to achieve a semi-intensive breeding, building a shed or chicken coop in order to have a better control of production, reduce health risks and increase production efficiency.

In semi-intensive breeding, birds have some freedom but their production and management can be better controlled.

Bird breeding systems can be determined according to the area of land available, the importance assigned to it in the farm or to the project of the producer. Generally, the breeding of home birds is a complement to the activity of the farm and is commonly in the hands of the housewife or children, but it does not stop being important. That is why you should try to get the most benefit possible from this type of breeding, since it is a very good source of animal protein, as is the egg and meat that the birds produce.

It is not very advisable nowadays the extensive breeding, due to different reasons: the danger of the predatory animals, of not knowing well where they lay the eggs, the distance they walk to look for water and food and, most serious, their exposure to communicable diseases produced by migratory or non-farm birds.

The most advisable thing is to make the semi-intensive breeding, that is, to have them inside a corral or chicken coop where a small installation will be made in which they can be sheltered, ensure their source of water, food and proper handling.

It is necessary to take into account what we want from the hens; that lay eggs for consumption, that serve as reproducers. In any case, we have to teach the chickens where to lay the eggs. A site inside the house will be chosen, fresh and well-arranged, so that the bird does not feel upset during the time of laying. They are placed a nest, which can be a fruit box, clean and painted with lime. You will put a little dry straw, so that in addition to comfort, do not damage the eggs. Where possible, put the nest 60 cm from the ground with or without ladder. When he puts the first egg he is left in the nest with a small mark until the other day, so that he gets used to putting in the same place; when the other egg is returned, the marking is removed, and so, each day of laying. Do not leave more than one egg in the nest to prevent them from becoming cluecas. This, in addition, will stimulate the putting. We must know that egg formation takes about 26 hours, therefore, a chicken can not lay 2 eggs on the same day.

When the hens become broody, they stop laying eggs to devote to hatching and take care of the nest.

When you want to have chicks you will have one rooster for every 10 chickens. The fertilized eggs can be collected and stored in a cool place or let the hen, once it accumulates the eggs is enclueque, suspend the posture and incubate them naturally, with body heat, for 21 days. It must be taken into account that the chicken in that period must have fresh water and food available as close as possible to the nest.

Feeding in semi-intensive systems should be controlled in quantity and quality, although birds may graze and partially feed on the available soil, if there are many, deficiencies will occur, which will be replaced by an adequate feed based on ground corn, popí cassava, soy inactivated, calcined bone meal and iodized salt. During the laying period, the proportions can be made as follows: 60% corn, 36% soy, treated or expelled, 3.5% bone meal and 0.5% iodized salt. Maize can be replaced 50% with cassava popí.

It is advisable to have a health plan, such as vaccination against Newcastle disease and deworming. If you have any doubt, ask the nearest veterinarian to help you solve any bird problem. Keep in mind that it is cheaper to prevent than to cure.

If you are going to devote to the production of eggs only, it is not necessary to have roosters. It is best to buy chickens selected for laying. The color of the egg shell will depend on the color of the hen. The color of the yolk depends on what the birds eat.

Education is the basis of the development of communities.
