When growing up, my family was not wealthy. But my dad and mom were always generous. We grew up seeing this generosity in them. Not just at Christmas time, but just normal life. If you see someone in need and you can help, simply help!

I just converted 20O Steem for 8;500 Pesos about $170 US Dollars.
As I promised all funds generated here on this Steemit account will be used to benefit the people of the Philippines and Eastern Asia.

Yesterday I took my wife, son and niece to the mountain, about 12 kilometers of very bumpy road.

This post is not to brag on us, but to give transparency to what the Steem generated here is being used for. Also as parents, we need to show our kids generosity to others. Not just to the people who can return the favor or pay us back, but specifically to those who cannot.

The Bible says we should not give alms to be seen by men. This is about motive! Why are we doing what we do? Jesus said, if we do it it be seen and we are seen, we already have our reward.

Mat 6:1 “Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.”

But now we have another verse that seemingly says the opposite.

Mat 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven”.

See your good deeds

It is all about motive! One is to be seen by men and have them think good about you. The other is so people praise God or God is honored and glorified.

Also as Jesus walked this earth, much of what He did was to show us an example of how to live.

We are also supposed to do this, especially before our children. Our hope is our children would do the same and that more people would be encouraged to do the same where they live.

When we lived in the US, we were doing the very same thing. All for the glory of God! Out of gratitude and because of His Great Love.

A 25 kilo sack of rice can be purchased for $20 or 1000 Philippine Pesos. This much rice will feed a family for nearly a month. This day we went high in the mountains to deliver rice to two families. A pastor and his family and another very poor family. Both hardworking people, but they could using a little help now and then.

The rest of the withdrawn Steem will be used to purchase food and clothing for the very poor children that we will encounter in some of our children’s outreach programs.
