STEEMCHURCH: EXPRESS SURPRISE / Christians of excellence

in #steemchurch6 years ago

Some years ago I heard a story about a homeless person who had not eaten for many days. More days than usual. The homeless man did not have the strength to continue for lack of food. One day, on the edge of fainting and about to lose his life, he spotted an apple in the distance. Using what little energy he had left, he decided to approach the fruit as he could. While I was advancing I was thinking about the benefit of eating that fruit, I was going to have the strength to keep looking for more food and, above all, that day was not going to be the last. The homeless man knew that eating that fruit would survive. I was sure of that. I knew it. He managed to get close to the fruit, had it within reach, was convinced that if he ate it would be his salvation and in the end, that was the last day of the homeless.

It is not enough to know that the Lord works miracles, or that He can change lives, it must be put into practice and be a way of life for those who know Him. The homeless man had faith that the food was going to save him, however, he did not take it and, therefore, did not eat it. That was his last day.

How is your spiritual life?

"I ENCOURAGE YOU BEFORE GOD AND THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, AND THEIR CHOSEN ANGELS, THAT YOU KEEP THESE THINGS WITHOUT PREJUDICES, NOT DOING ANYTHING WITH PARTIALITY" 1st TIM. 5:21 (REINA VALERA REVISED 1960).

Have you bought a car without seeing it? Hardly, right? But many have accepted a "salvation" that really will not "save" them from hell. Do not misunderstand, I mean that even though you have made the decision to accept the Lord in your heart as your Savior, you can be living an alternate life that God expects. Instead of being on the path that takes you to heaven, you are "paving" your own path to that place where no one wants to go: hell. A car can look nice, but if it does not cross the city, you will not trust it to cross the country. In the same way, if your walk with God is not a reality, you are wasting your time and you will be increasingly away from having a life in eternity.

Remember, or perhaps it has happened to you recently that, in school, the teacher arrived to the classroom with the news that he was going to apply a surprise test (I do not think I was the only one he passed ). How did you feel at that moment that you heard the news? At the same time, the Lord asks you not to stay where you are. The Lord challenges you to do an examination to know how you are on your way with Him. Paul says: "Examine yourselves if you are in the faith; prove yourselves. Or do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you, unless you are reproved? "(2 Corinthians 13: 5).

CHRISTIANITY IS MORE A MATTER OF THE HEART THAT OF THE HEAD; IT IS MATURITY OF THE HEART MORE THAN KNOWLEDGE

The power and person of Jesus Christ is in you; to believe in Him is progressively to become like Him. As it is written: "... as he is, so are we in this world" (1 Jn 4:17). If in the life you live, you believe that the Kingdom of God really does not work or that sin does not get you in trouble, something is seriously wrong in your concept of truth. Christianity is more a matter of the heart than of the head; it is maturity of the heart rather than knowledge.

3 exam questions for life

First: Is the faith you live effective? Ask yourself if your prayers are being answered and if your life is becoming like Christ's.

Second: If what I think does not work, why is not it working? Maybe it works, but ... will not it be that you're lazy? Maybe you need to turn off the television and spend time looking for the Lord. Either way, you must look for why things are not working for you.

Third: If you see others advancing in their walk with the Lord and going from victory to victory, but you do not, ask yourself: How did he / she receive that grace from God? If so, do not be afraid or ashamed to sit down with your leader and talk with him to help you find the path you must follow to grow with the Lord. The word tells you: "He who receives a prophet because he is a prophet, a prophet's reward will receive; and he who receives a righteous man, because he is righteous, will receive a just reward "(Matthew 10:41).

God gives "rewards" of prophecy, knowledge and other spiritual gifts to his servants. Learn from those whose faith is working. The final test of all faith is to see the kind of life it produces. As it is written: "But whoever keeps his word, in this one, the love of God has been perfected; by this we know that we are in it. He who says he abides in him must walk as he walked "(1 Jn 2: 5-6). Go ahead, because a persistent walk with Christ produces a life like his.
