Day # 1 steemchurch. Blessed are the poor in spirit
The sermon on the mount was one of the most unfathomable teachings that any man could express at all times, which was exposed to all those who have approached the kingdom of God assuming his sinfulness and the need to cover his faults.
All these beatitudes are initiated with the purpose of inserting a series of principles in Christians in order to teach how to live in the kingdom.
I firmly believe that each time Jesus addressed his disciples, he did so with the intention that the words would reach the heart of each one of them.
I am struck by those words that a teacher of the law asked Jesus about the new birth.
If you notice Jesus' response, you realize that they are similar to the ones he uses with his disciples in the sermon on the mountain. Why? - because the answer was given about the depth of the kingdom, about the way that man had to be in order to access the kingdom of heaven.
Jesus told Nicodemus: "It is necessary to be born again."
Jesus also tells his disciples and teaches them that in order to access the kingdom of heaven they must live in a different way than people who do not know God.
He also adds "they are blessed" those who possess such characteristics, because theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Jesus begins his teaching with a powerful principle, he tells his disciples: "Blessed are the poor in spirit."
It's like Jesus was saying to him:
listen to all the principles that you must follow to be conducted in the kingdom of God, what you are hearing is for them to practice and make their lifestyle, behavior , because you can not act, nor be as the world acts, you are men of the kingdom, who must make a difference.
Who among us will be able to approach God ? but recognizes his incapacity and his spiritual poverty ?.
the poor in spirit know that nothing is worth inwardly, and that their poverty is real, internal, that they need God to quench their thirst.
All men are spiritually poor, since the first man sinned, so we need to cleanse and fill that spiritual poverty that is in our hearts.
Only God is necessary to fill a void that nothing, nor can anyone satisfy.
If something is happening in the current world, it is that the whole society is sick with pride, many people today call good things bad, and call bad things good.
The world has always misinterpreted the Biblical teachings, because they have them for less, and seek their happiness and well-being outside of God.
However, Jesus told his disciples that the world was wrong, that nothing they had for gain and happiness could nourish and enrich their souls, because thus they had possessions, luxuries and many riches they would always be poor in spirit.
The poor of spirits are born again people, of water and of the spirit, they are all those who depend and live for God, they are renewed people who put on the armor and the armor of God. People willing to yield, to forgive, to give, to help ... not waiting for the man any payment.
A person who is poor in spirit is the light of the world, and comes out of the earth and lives under the will of God, without recriminating or complaining in support of God, understanding that everything God allows is necessary, even if it seems absurd.
The poor of spirits are not arrogant, vainglorious, disrespectful, disloyal, spiteful, unjust, rather they are people renewed by the grace and favor of God they practice: justice, mercy, love, loyalty, understanding, humility ...
