Steemchurch: ¡Take advantage of your time!

Ephesians 5: 15-16
See, then, diligently how you walk, not as fools but as wise men,
Making good use of time, because the days are bad.

Some time ago, a worried young woman looked at her wardrobe and began to complain about the little space she had to store her clothes. Therefore, he decided to remove everything and start ordering. He thought about the needy people and that is why he put aside some gifts to give away. Then, he folded the rest well, classified it and put everything back in the closet. Not only that now there was plenty of space, but that he felt joy just seeing his clothes ordered. The problem was not the lack of space ... it was the lack of order.

Something similar happens with time. ¡I do not have an hour of the day left to pray! ¡I do not have time for my children! ¡I do not have time to serve God! ¿Is it true? ¿Or should we say: I have not known how to properly organize my time?

One invests his time in what he considers valuable. What is the time we spend watching a TV series? How much time do we dedicate to our spouse? And our children? How much time do we dedicate to evangelize?

Today's Word mentions the term "seize", which refers to using a thing in a way that gets the most out of it. This refers to focusing and planning what we will do in the day. Prayer should not arise as a product of a feeling alone ... but it is also necessary to plan the time we will have to pray, read the Bible or preach to someone even.

Too busy.

If we imbalance in the order of priorities and the eagerness to deal with the daily things of life that occupy 100% of our time, we run the risk that our spiritual life is extinguished. If every day we need to feed the body, so as not to get sick, so does our spirit. We must feed ourselves daily by listening to the preaching of the church, reading the Word of God, praying or preaching to someone.

For example, when we talk about work, although we can not live without working, we need to organize our lives so that the work does not take away the family and the Lord. For this, it is necessary to be responsible with the work and give the maximum effort (Proverbs 10: 4), but also be clear that when the time comes, it is necessary to make the cut, to dedicate time to take care of the family and of course, to find the time to dedicate him to God.

We are the ones who will determine how we will live in the future. The Lord gives us advice and helps us in our weaknesses, guides and trains us, but we are the ones who will organize the time and dedication we will provide to each aspect of our life. As the Word says in Ephesians 5:17 when it speaks of "understanding what the will of the Lord is"

Too unoccupied

Maybe, being full of activities is simply not our case. Do you often feel bored? Then, the activities do not fill your agenda. However, having free time does not mean taking advantage of it.

Sometimes, and more in recent times, we spend many moments with cell phones, television or internet. And although we are more and more used to getting rid of worries with technology, this can steal valuable time from our lives.

It is therefore that leisure extinguishes the spirit also, because instead of using the gifts that God has given us, we are wasting our talents.

All, absolutely all of us who have believed in the resurrection of Jesus and in the forgiveness of our sins, through faith, have received gifts and talents (1 Peter 4: 10-11). These capacities that make us extraordinary, were given for the purpose of being a blessing to others. It is so, that there is no excuse. The gifts you have received are for service in the church, as well as outside it.

So are we too busy, or too unemployed? Have we found the balance? To do this, let's analyze the priorities that govern our lives today:

¿What do I spend more time with? ¿Is there something left over in my life? ¿Is there an activity that does not build me and steals my time? ¿Any TV program to forget? ¿Any sleep time to put aside?

Sorting priorities.

Let's encourage us to classify the priorities:

  1. At the beginning of the day let's dedicate some time to God. To be able to pray and take their food and advice through their Word.

  2. Meditate on the time we spend alone on our spouse and our children.

  3. Now think how to make better use of working hours. If we do not have one, what will be the measures we will take today to look for a job?

  4. Do not forget that our gifts are also needed in the church. We will get involved in any activity that we can develop.

  5. Finally we need time for rest and healthy recreation.

Therefore, whether we feel too busy or with too much free time, it is time to sort and classify the priorities to be wise in managing our time. Let's seek the Lord's will because he knows us and wants to help us achieve the goals and purposes for which we were born. Let's not say "I do not have time" but rather organize our agenda to be at peace and grow in every way.

Sort:

Time is the best gift we can give, it is the essence of ourselves that we can serve, love and care for our loved ones. Today I invite you to dedicate time to your children, wife, family and siblings.

Let your heart be filled with his massage and his word.
Let his word motivate you in all we do.
Let him be your role model.
Work for him.
Do his wish and he will continue to bless you in all you do.
