STEEMCHURCH - I AM, NOT FEAR

in #steemchurch5 years ago

A warm greeting Dear friends and brothers
Welcome to my blog
God bless you!

(God) changes the tempest in calm, and its waves are appeased. Then they rejoice, because they calmed down; and so he guides them to the port they wanted.
Psalm 107: 29-30

Have courage; I am, do not fear!
Mark 6:50

Jesus has had a long and exhausting day. When night falls, he tells his disciples: "Let's cross to the other shore", referring to the opposite side of where the city of Capernaum is (Mark 4:35).

On the east coast of the Sea of Galilee, where they are heading, is the region of the Gerasenes, which is part of the Decapolis. The cities of the Decapolis are centers of Greek culture, although many Jews also live there.

When Jesus leaves Capernaum, people notice, and other boats also begin to cross the sea (Mark 4:36). The other shore is not far away. The Sea of Galilee is a deep freshwater lake 21 kilometers (13 miles) long and about 12 kilometers (7 miles) wide.

It is true that Jesus is perfect, but, naturally, he is tired after the day he has had. So, when they set sail, he lies down on the back of the boat, rests his head on a pillow and falls asleep.

"I am," Jesus said to his disciples terrified by a raging sea (Mark 6: 45-53). Then he led the small boat hit by the waves and safely drove it "to the port they desired." The almighty Lord who walked on the waves remains the same for those who place their trust in him. Many times they talk about chance, bad luck, unforeseen events, but the believer knows that the Lord governs the circumstances of his life, whether pleasant or difficult. The difficulties may seem insurmountable, but the Lord is above all.

Christian friend, listen to his voice in the middle of the storm: Do not be afraid, "I am". He who allows the sea to rise up enraged can also calm him, ordering him: "Be still, be still!" (Mark 4:39).

The Lord says: "I know every one of your trials; none of them are there to make you wreck, but to get closer to heaven. Do you have a serious illness? Does loneliness or mourning make you cry? I am your comforter, I came into the world and I went through all human suffering. Stay close to me, in prayer, because I always listen to you ».

Let's look up and regain courage! Let us thank the Lord for his faithful care, while we hope to be one day with him in heaven. Then we will understand the true meaning of our trials and praise the goodness of Him who, on earth, accompanied us as we passed through them.

Brother Mosdad, seeing Jesus approaching in the middle of the storm, was the hope of the fishermen! In the midst of the storm we can comfort our hearts by seeing Jesus by faith.
