A BELITTLED PROPHECY

Basic Scripture:
Matthew 27:25
[25]And all the people answered, Let His blood be on us and on our children!

This day, the Lord has laid it on my heart to draw your attention to another interesting prophecy as the one which is our basic scripture for today. It may shock you to know that God still turns situations around for our good since time immemorial. Praise God beloved and a good morning to you!

As Jesus Christ was led to the court of Pontius Pilate, He was asked questions about His own people accusing Him of what was not true and yet, our Saviour decided not to utter a word. Not because of anything but according to Joshua 2:19 which says, " And if anyone goes out of the doors of your house into the street, his blood shall be upon his head, and we will be guiltless; but if a hand is laid upon anyone who is with you in the house, his blood shall be on our head. He did not want the blood of the Israelites to be on his head but rather the opposite.

Let's break this down and you will see why I said it was a BELITTLED prophecy. The people of Israel agreed in Joshua 2:19 that Rahab's family would be with her while the destruction was ongoing and anyone who did the opposite would die. If he or she died, it meant that he or she was disobedient and so they were not to blame. That person would answer to the actions which led to his death.

Now, Jesus Christ knew that in the Word, God admonished us as believers to respect authorities and leaders. He also knew that it was only a fool who talks much and gives himself out. Again, He knew that whatever He said, would be used against Him in the court of Law hence He kept silent so that if He died, His blood would not be on His own head but on our heads. Hallelujah!!.

As Pontius Pilate decided to wash His hands off the matter, the people decided that Jesus' blood should be on their heads because He was not the one who wanted to die. We wanted Him to die. Amazing! Right? Yet as much as Christ wanted to die for us, we actually wanted His blood on us and on our children so that there would be a Passover of the angel of death in our lives, our businesses and others. Think about it well. His blood is upon you and your children this Easter and forever if only you believe He died for you
