About Sermons of Churches Today

설교란 교회의 예배에서 성경말씀을 가르치는 순서를 말하지요.
Sermon is the time when the pastor teaches about the Bible during the Sunday worship service.

교회가 처음 시작된 시절에는 설교시간이 예배의 중심에 있지 않았습니다.
When the churches first started to develop, sermon wasn't the most important part of the service.

성만찬이나 세례, 찬양과 기도시간이 차지했지만, 종교개혁이 일어나면서 평신도에게 성경의 내용을 잘 가르쳐야 한다는 종교개혁자들의 의지에 의해 설교시간이 예배의식의 중심에 들어서게 되었어요.
More important things were the holy communion, baptism, praises, and prayers, but sermon became the feature program as people went through religious revolution, thinking people need to learn more about the Bible.

그래서 대부분의 교인들은 설교를 통해 성경의 내용을 배우게 됩니다.
So majority of Christians learn the Bible through sermons when they come to church on Sundays.

그래서 교회에 십수년 아니 수십 년 다닌 사람들은 수많은 설교를 듣게 되지요.
People hear sermons for however long they've been to church.

게다가 개인적으로 좋아하는 유명설교자의 설교방송을 듣는 사람들은 평생 수천 번 이상의 설교를 들었을 겁니다.
And people who like to look for their favorite pastors' sermons would have listened to thousands of sermons in their lives.

그렇다면 성경에서 말하는 하나님의 말씀에 전문가가 되었어야 하지 않나요? 성경은 하나님의 말씀니까요.
Then they all should be experts when it comes to God's words, right? I mean, since the Bible is the word of God.

그러나 기가 막히게도, 수십 년간 교회를 다닌 사람들 중에서 성경에 대한 기초적인 내용조차 잘 알지 못하는 이들도 적지 않습니다.
But strangely, there are many people who do not even have basic knowledge about the holy book, albeit their time spent in church.

그 이유는 설교자들의 설교가 허접스러웠기 때문이에요.
It happens because the pastors' sermons were just subpar.

그렇다면 외국에서 유명신학대학원을 졸업한 신학박사출신으로, 해박한 성경지식을 가지고 감성을 터치하는 쫀득쫀득한 말솜씨로 감동적인 설교를 하는 설교자가 담임목사가 있는 교회를 다니면서 수많은 설교를 들어온 교인이라면, 통찰력 있는 성경지식을 가지고 하나님이 기뻐하는 자녀의 삶을 살고 있습니까?
Let me ask you this: If a person attends a church led by a famous pastor who has a degree from a well known seminary that give greatest sermons ever, would he or she be knowledgeable of what God says and lead a holy life God rejoices?

만약 그랬다면, 우리네 교회가 이렇게 세상 사람으로부터 조롱과 멸시를 당하며, 가파른 영적 침체의 낭떠러지로 굴러 떨어지고 있지 않을 겁니다.
If that were the case, churhes wouldn't have had ridiculed or mocked by people of thsi world, or stumble down to traps of sins.

우리네 주변에는 이름만 대면 유명한 대형교회가 널려 있기 때문입니다.
Look around you; there are tons of large, famous churches led by famous pastors.

그래서 오늘은 우리네 교회의 설교에 대해 곱씹어보고 싶습니다.
So I would like to talk about sermons today.

먼저, 성령께서 잘못된 설교에 대해 말씀해주신 내용을 올려드리겠습니다.
I would like to share with you what the Holy Spirit has said about the 'wrong sermons'.

• 이성적인 상식을 전가의 보도처럼 말하는 자들은 하나님에 대한 지식이 없다. 교회는 하나님의 지식을 상식적으로 말하는 것이 아니라 진리로 말해지는 것이다. 인본주의적 설교가 상식적인 설교이다. 기존에 했던 것을 반복하는 고리타분한 설교나 율법적인 설교가 아니라 하나님의 깨달음으로 새롭게 설교해야 한다.
• People who speak of logical faith has no knowledge of the Father. Church doesn't speak of God with logic but with faith. Logical reasoning is human nature; they have to feel my presence and realization that I give, not listen and understand what the sermons says.

• 그 말씀이 그 말씀 같고, 이 말씀이 이 말씀 같은 설교는 만들어낸 설교이다. 자신의 꾀에 빠지지 않도록 조심하라. 앞이 뒤인지 모르고 설교하는 자들도 많다.
  Sermons are made up when they sound all the same from one another. Don't fall into the trap. There are preachers who don't know what they are preaching about.

• 한국에 있는 많은 종들이 미혹의 영에 빠져있다는 것을 알고, 어깨너머로 배운 지식(신학교 교육, 필자 주)으로는 나를 만날수 없다는 것을 알려라. 그 지식은 자기만족일 뿐이다.
• Many servants in Korea have been deceived by spirits of falsehood; let them know that knowledge gained by looking over someone's shoulders (note: seminary courses) won't lead them to me; that's just for their own satisfaction and likings.

• 목회자들이 아전인수식으로 교육한다.
• Pastors teach people about the Bible in their favor.

• 어깨 너머로 배운 지식(신학교 교육, 필자 주)은 오직 자기만족일 뿐이다.
• Knowledge gained by looking over someone's shoulders (note: seminary courses) is just for self-satisfaction.

• 어깨 너머로 배운 지식(신학교 교육, 필자 주)은 예수 그리스도의 보혈을 헛되게 하 는 것이다.
• Knowledge gained by looking over someone's shoulders (note: seminary courses) is something that wastes the blood of Jesus.

• 예정론이 잘못된 것을 알고, 내가 하는 교리는 오직 성경이고, 구원관을 헛된 말로 호리는 자는 내가 벌하리라.
• Know that predestination is wrong; only doctrine I approve is the Bible; I will punish whoever that ruins the salvation and my doctrine with their words.

• 이성적으로 상식을 전가의 보도처럼 말하는 자들은 하나님에 대한 지식이 없다.
• People who speak of God in a matter-of-fact way has know knowledge of God.

• 이론(신학이론, 필자 주)이 나를 기쁘게 하지 않는다.
• Theories don't make me happy.

성령께서 제게 해주신 잘못된 설교는 영적인 설교가 아니라, 이성적이고 합리적이며 상식적으로 가르치는 설교를 말하고 계십니다다.
The sermons Holy Spirit calls 'wrong' is not the sermons that are spiritual; he talks about sermons that logically explain what faith is.

예를 들어 기복신앙은 상식적이고 합리적인 신앙방식입니다.
For example, 'faith of prosperity' is a explanation of faith in logical reasoning.

기복신앙은 희생적으로 신앙행위를 하는 사람들에게 하나님으로부터 더 많은 축복을 받게 된다는 신앙방식이죠.
It is a theory that people are believed to receive more blessings if they participate in religious activities.

이는 무당들의 신앙방식인데 백일기도보다 천일기도가, 삼백 원만짜리 굿보다 천만 원짜리 굿이 더 효험이 있다고 말하는 신앙방식이에요.
This is similar to shamans telling people that it is better to participate in 1000-day prayer than 100-day prayer; as well as $10000 ritual is better than $3000 ritual.

그래서 집에서 기도하는 것보다 헌금봉투를 가지고 와서 새벽기도회에 참석하거나, 아예 기도원에 올라가 금식하며 기도하는 것이 하나님의 축복을 받게 된다고 가르치는 것과 유사합니다.
So they teach people that they will receive more blessings when they come to church with offering and tithe envelope filled with money than praying alone at their own homes.

그러나 이는 성경적이 아닙니다.
But this is not biblical.

왜냐면 하나님은 겉으로 드러내는 신앙행위보다, 깊은 마음의 속내나 목적, 동기가 하나님의 뜻에 합당하는지를 날카롭게 보시는 분이시니까요.
God looks at our hearts and intentions at our core, rather than physical labor we put into our religious activities.

또한 하나님은 이성적이고 합리적이며 과학적인 방식으로 자신의 존재감을 드러내시는 분이 아니라, 기적과 이적으로 존재감을 드러내시며 일을 하시는 분이세요.
And he does not show his presence in logical way that we can understand; he reigns on us through miracles and wonders.

그러므로 이성적이고 상식적으로 하나님을 가르치는 이들은 영적인 사람들이 아닌 셈입니다.
So people who teach others in way that logically makes sense are not spiritual people to learn from.

그러나 우리네 교회에서는 사람들이 좋아하는 인본주의적이 설교를 잘 하는 목회자들이 인기 있지요.
But these pastors are the popular ones who bring more people to their churches.

또한 성령의 조명하심으로 깨달음을 통해 가르치는 설교자들은 신학자의 교리를 동원한 신학이론을 가르치지 않습니다.
Also, people who rely on the Holy Spirit to preach to others don't follow the doctrines people have created.

그러나 우리네 교회에서는 자신들의 교단에서 숭배하는 신학자들의 교리를 가르쳐야 합니다.
But churches today have to teach doctrine that their organizations believe.

신학이론은 이성적이고 합리적인 방식으로 성경을 해석하는 학문입니다.
Theology is a study of the Bible and religion, in logical and sensible ways.

신학교에서 박사학위를 받으려면 예수님의 말씀을 연구해야 하는 게 아니라, 유명 신학자의 논문을 연구하여 이를 비판하거나 더 깊이 승계해야 박사학위를 받을 수 있습니다.
Only way you can obtain a doctorate degree is to study theories that theologians came up with; they don't have to study Jesus' words.

그러므로 신학이론에 해박한 설교자들의 설교를 들으면 현학적인 지식을 배우는 것에 만족할지는 모르겠지만, 하나님을 만나는 방법을 배울 수 없어요. 우리네 교회에서는 칼빈의 예정론이 대세입니다.
People who listen to famous preachers may be happy with what they learn through the sermon--knowledge, facts, history, etc--but they can't learn how to meet God. Churches today is swept by Calvinism.

그 교리는 한번구원은 영원한 구원이라는 게 요지입니다. 그러나 성경에는 그런 말이 없지요.
It is a belief that you'd be forever saved once you found your salvation; unfortunately, there is no such thing mentioned in the Bible.

신학자들이 성경말씀을 비틀어서 자의적으로 아전인수식으로 주장하는 것일 뿐입니다.
It is just a theory claimed by theologians that accepted the Bible in a very arbitrary way.

그러나 교인들이 그런 구원론을 기뻐하고 은혜를 받았다고 좋아하는데, 천국은 좁은 문이며 성령의 사람만이 천국에 들어간다는 예수님의 말씀을 가르치는 이들이 어디 있겠습니까?
But people are happy to hear this destination theory; then who would teach Jesus' word that it is extremely hard to go to Heaven?

그래서 인기 있는 대형교회의 목회자의 설교를 수천 번 들어온 사람들이, 성령의 능력으로 귀신을 쫓아내며 고질병을 고치는 능력을 드러내면서 복음을 전하고 영혼을 구원하며 제자를 양육하고 있습니까?
So.... are the listeners of famous pastors' enjoying peaceful lives as they drive off demons and heal people?

이들은 교회에서 요구하는 예배의식에 성실하게 참석하고 십일조를 넘치게 드리며 각종 교회봉사를 열심히 하는 것으로 자기만족과 자기 의를 채우고 있을 뿐입니다.
These people are just full of self-assurance and satisfaction, attending all the Sunday services and other activities, giving envelope full of offering money.

그래서 성령의 능력이 없어도 아무런 의심 없이 천국의 자격을 철썩 같이 믿고 있어요.
And firmly believe they have a secure place in Heaven, even though they don't even have any power of Holy Spirit.

어쨌든 하나님의 사람은 성령의 능력으로 영혼을 구원하는 도구로 사용되고 있어야 하며, 이런 사람에게 하나님의 함께 하심으로 평안하고 형통한 삶을 누리고 있을 겁니다.
Anyway, people of God should be used as his tool to save souls, and they should be living a peaceful, joyful life with God right beside them.

그러나 거꾸로 건조하고 냉랭한 영혼과 무능하고 무기력한 믿음으로 고단하고 팍팍하게 살고 있다면, 필시 인본적인 설교를 하나님의 말씀이라고 잘못 배웠기 때문일 겁니다.
But if they lead a hard knock life with empty and dry soul, it is because they learned human teachings as God's word.
