Reading passage:- Genesis 39:1-23
From the passage above we can see that that the lord was with Joseph vs3
God identified with him because he identified himself with God by staying holy.
Now let's see because God's presence was with Joseph,he was prosperous.
That is one benefit of knowing God he makes everything turn out well.
When God is with you everyone sees it,it is not an hidden thing, we can see that in vs 3 which quotes thus
"And the master saw that the Lord was with Him".............
When God is with you,you find grace in the sight of men,people go out of their comfort zone to favour you, we can see that vs4.
Still In vs4 note that Portiphar made Joseph the overseer in his house, there were other servants before Joseph came into Potiphar's house , but yet since Joseph was wise enough to identify himself with God early in life,God made sure that he was easily identified by Portiphar which made him the overseer of Portiphar's Mansion.
Vs 5 touched me so well it says that >the Lord blessed the house of Portiphar the Egyptian because of Joseph.
Stop and ask yourself when last has God ever blessed an Organisation because of You? When did you go to spend holiday with any of your relative and things change because of you,ask yourself when have you entered a transit travelling and an accident that was suppose to happen is averted because of you.
Ask yourself when last you entered a hospital to visit someone and because of you other sick people got their healing.
Stop! Stop!! and Stop ask yourself many questions and you will know if you truly carry the presence of God.
Again vs5 we saw that the blessings of God was upon both the house and the field, that means apart from the house the field responded to Joseph, every plant had no option than to grow and to flourish because a god was around and that was Joseph.
To me it is an error for me to plant and it doesn't flourish,impossible,I carry Jesus so Mt hands are blessed so therefore anything implant must flourish ams be productive.
I can remember vividly well that when I was quite small my mother carries us to the farm and each time she wants to plant cassava stem she will pray before planting it and before we return to harvest it the cassava it will be so much that we can't carry all back home. It is either the tubers will be so big and many in one stem such that we will not uproot all the stems we planted. It was indeed a miracle but I never understood it not until I grew up and I came across this passage of the bible and this verse in particular that I remembered it.
Beloved in Christ God is real,seek him early and you will not be found wanting.
Now vs6 says that the master left everything in the hands of Joseph and he paid no attention to it because Joseph was in charge.
The only thing Portiphar paid attention to was what he was going to eat.
All this happen because God was with Joseph apart from that
KJV-And Joseph was a goodly person, and well favoured.
AMP-Now Joseph was an attractive person and fine-looking
NIV-Now Joseph was well-built and handsome.
We will stop here for today but sure to complete it someday.
In the mean while Ask yourself Do I have Jesus in me? If No then you have to find him early in life. Joseph did and I can bet you he didn't regret it.
