What manner of man are you?

TEXT: 1 Corinthians 2:14-15 KJV
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them , because they are spiritually discerned. [15] But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

What manner of man are you?? Jesus was asked that God one time when he calm the storm in Mark 5. We will be confronted with that question someday and somewhere.

In the above scripture the great Apostle Paul under the light of the spirit mentioned two manner of men that exists in this world and then in chapter 3 of the same book, he mentioned the third kind of man, so there are three kinds of men existing in this world and they are

1. The natural man
2. The carnal man
3. The spiritual man.

THE NATURAL MAN ( I COR 2:14).
The natural man as it is called is natural in all sense.

• he is not born again, the nature and life of God is totally absent.
  -he cannot receive the things of the spirit because they are foolishness unto him. He mind has not contacted divinity,so when you tell him there is one that scatters and yet increases and there is one that withholds and yet it leads to poverty (Proverb 11:24). He cannot understand and accept why you scatter money and yet become rich, while you keep giving and yet cannot be broke. The natural cannot understand that marriage is honorable in all things and the bed undefiled. ( Hebrew 13:4). The natural man cannot understand while you will ask him not to taste the fruit he is about to pay for it,he calls fornication tasting what am going to pay for. The natural man is full of his ways and ego. He knows God exists,he even goes to church but his nature is corrupted,his spirit man is dead and he alienated from God. He is doomed for eternal destruction because his nature is hostile to God. He is a rebel.The only way out of this nature is to be genuinely born again. There are lots of natural men in this world even in the church,some are even pastors. One time l had a pastor come out and testify that he entered ministry without being born again. That is, he was preaching and pastoring a church yet not born again.

THE CARNAL MAN.( 1COR 3:1-5.)
-the carnal man is born again. Paul wrote to the church in Corinth and that means they are born again.
-the carnal man has received the Holy Ghost baptism and he is speaking in tongues. In 1 Cor 14 that they spoke in tongues.
-the carnal man operates in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. He manifests those gifts but carnal. In Cor 1:7 Paul said they come behind in no gift, that means the church of Corinth had all the gifts of the Spirit in operation and manifestation but was yet carnal.
What then are the characteristics of the carnal man?

1. He is an instigator And propagator of divisions and Strife's in the body. The carnal christian is the force behind division in the body. The Corinthian church were divided, some said they belong to Paul and others Apollos and Paul said they were carnal. The major cause of denominationalism amongst Nigerians and the body of Christ is carnality.
2. The carnal christian is a babe in the spirit. He cannot receive meat so feeds on milk. He cannot take in deeper truths of Gods word because he is babe.
   3.The carnal christian pays attention to the things of the flesh. He invests,spends money,time and energy on things that gratifies the flesh. Romans 8:5.
3. The carnal christian is sturbborn and insists of having his way and does not obey God. Romans 8:7.
4. The carnal christian yields to the flesh. He yields to the desires and dictates of the flesh. Some times he gets angry bittered,vexed,defiled and polluted but he is born again.
   The carnal christian can even be a pastor preaching or even prophesying but is carnal because he yields to the flesh all the time not just once. The carnal christian needs deliverance from the flesh. His deliverance comes from the a revelation of what Jesus did to the flesh on the cross and apply to its flesh in the place of prayer and study of Gods word.
   
   THE SPIRITUAL MAN OR CHRISTIAN. ( I COR 2:15)
   True spirituality is not measured by how long one speaks in tongues or how many portions of scripture he can memorise. The spirituality is not measured by how serious he looks all the time and keep moving his lips praying silently all the time, that's not the sign of true spirituality. TRUE SPIRITUALITY IS MEASURED BY YOUR LEVEL OF YIELDEDNESS TO THE HOLY SPIRIT DAILY.
5. The spiritual man judges all things. That is he investigates and examines all things. He is not quick to judge or make conclusions about what he hears. When he hears somebody has fallen into a sin,he doesn't conclude but investigates. It is in our nature as humans to be happy and rush into comclusions when we hear evil and negative reports about any body. But the spiritual man investigates all things. He does not rejoice in the down fall of another man.
6. Spiritual man is a restorer of the fallen. ( Galatians 6:1). The natural and carnal man rejoices over the fall of man but the spiritual man raises up the fallen Christians and don't mock and laugh at them.
7. The spiritual man has a depth of brokenness and meekness. It is expressed in his choice of words,attitude and character. He is gentle and kind. He does not act it but it flows from the inside.
8. He easily forgives and overlook offenses. He doesnt get bittered and angry against anyone. They walk in love towards any one and everyone. They give everyone the benefit of doubt. The Spiritual man is deep in word and lives out the word. He does not act it and pretend. Its genuine and heavenly.

In conclusion are you a natural, carnal or spiritual man???
