The verse: Hebrews 12:15 talks about the consequences of having in the heart root of bitterness. One of the reasons why bitterness arises is from past hurts. It is important that we take into account that the best thing we can do when an offense comes to our life, is to forgive immediately and not allow time to pass that thorn hurting us on the anger. The wounds have to be healed as quickly as possible. I am going to give you a sample of a cycle about emotional wounds:

The offense - Lack of forgiveness - Resentment - The root of bitterness - Hate - The cauterization of conscience.

Signs that show the root of bitterness in a person

The constant complaint is an evident signal, the murmuring prolongs the situation of life and always against other people, it is a sign of having this root of bitterness that speaks Hebrews 12:15. The people with this manifestation almost all the time are angry and they pass it cursing continuously.

"And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Remove from you all bitterness, anger, anger, crying, and slander, and all malice. " Ephesians 4.30, 31

They always have memories of what caused them damage, details, such as: names, words, things, and situations that were said and done. The root of bitterness becomes a detailed record of everything.

People with roots of bitterness isolate themselves from everyone, isolate themselves because they are afraid of being hurt again or much more than they are.

What are the consequences of the root of bitterness according to Hebrews 12:15?
This terrible root can turn us away from Christ. The root of bitterness has the sufficiency of we depart from the faith, and this is a high risk that we should not take.

"Take heed, lest anyone fail to attain the grace of God; that some root of bitterness springing up, hinders you, and by it many are contaminated. " Hebrews 12.15

The root of bitterness; causing some physical diseases. Many of these diseases people end up suffering in their bodies, and are not really for physical reasons, rather they originate in the sick soul that is contaminated with bitterness, and manifests in a total physical imbalance. I'll give you some examples: Cancer, arthritis, migraine, ulcers, back pain, and insomnia. In Hebrews 12:15 we see that he points out that bitterness hinders the grace of God, and he who has the grace of God is healthy. Bitterness cloaks us in a terrible prison.

«... because in gall of bitterness and in prison of evil I see that it is». Acts 8.23

In this time, there are many believers who feel completely locked in real spiritual prisons. This is because of the bitterness that is in the soul. The bitterness acts like an amnesia that causes a forgetfulness of all the good that we have received from God and from other people. It is like a structure that covers us, blinds us and does not allow us to appreciate the goodness of people. This is because we think that all the time we are right and that other people are wrong.

5 Steps to be free from the root of bitterness

"Why was my pain perpetual, and my hopeless wound admitted no cure? Will you be like an illusory thing to me, like waters that are not stable? Therefore thus says the LORD: If you repent, I will restore you, and you will be before me; and if you select the precious from the vile, you will be like my mouth, they will become you, and you will not convert to them ». Jeremiah 15.18,19

1.- We must take something good out of all the bad things we have experienced.

God is saying to Jeremiah: If you could see how precious and good I am going to produce from that bad, rest assured that you will come out of this pain; and even though I have not sent you this problem, I can make something beautiful, precious and valuable from this for your growth, and I can turn all this bad into a great blessing.

He will never be healed of a great pain, of a difficult situation, of a despair, of that which was stripped from him, nor of that wound that they reacted, if he can not see that, of that terrible negative problem, God has the power to bring a beautiful blessing God has all the authority to do it.

2.- Must Take the willingness to forgive
Must take the willingness to forgive and go to God, ask forgiveness and all those who remember that you have offended.

3.- You must make a list
You must make a list with the names of the people who have hurt you or have taken something that you think was theirs.

4.- Express forgiveness
He has to express his forgiveness by recognizing and conforming it.

He has to be specific with each word and fact with which he was wounded, and to this he adds if he has been rejected or a situation occurred that could have saddened him.

5.- He must repent for the sin of judgment

He must repent for the sin of judgment, for wanting this person to suffer for what he has done and repent for having blamed God.

You should know that when there is a lack of forgiveness and the root of bitterness in our lives, we begin to judge people and that becomes a terrible sin, thus opening a big door to the satan. We should remember that in the verse: Hebrews 12:15, it clearly tells us that if we leave this root of bitterness, we can not reach the grace of God. He does not like this condition, because we must have mercy, and to forgive is a fundamental principle of his kingdom.

"Take heed, lest anyone fail to attain the grace of God; that some root of bitterness springing up, hinders you, and by it many are contaminated. " Hebrews 12.15

► Prayer to be free from the root of bitterness.

Repeat this prayer: Heavenly Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus, I ______ renounce all root of bitterness that has contaminated my heart and does not allow me to lead a life full of your grace. Now at this moment I cancel all the consequences for having kept in my heart all resentment, all lack of forgiveness that causes me the root of bitterness. Repeat the following: I forgive: _________ for all the pain I caused, and I give you sir all this pain and all the wounds that were opened because of resentment. I renounce the right to want punishment, and I get rid of all feelings of revenge, now sir I ask you to bless all those who hurt me. Father in the name of Jesus, I want to renounce all roots of bitterness, anger, anger, hatred, jealousy, slander, and I declare myself completely free, by the power of your blood, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Bitterness can be a trigger for your life. Practice being a forgiver and trust in the Lord, trust that he has the power, and can deliver him. Remember in your promises those situations that you can not change, He will change them for you. If at some point in his life he has lost something, he will return it to him double in one way or another if he is faithful, but does not allow, nor does he give entrance to a fault that introduces him to a root of bitterness.

God has perfect plans, great and beautiful purposes for his life. The enemy will try to use people close to you to try to ruin your heart, with these roots that are small but they turn out to be extremely dangerous for your spiritual, physical and emotional life. Do not stop, and always continue to walk forward with faith in Jesus Christ who is there to help you. Amen!. I recommend that you study Hebrews 12:15 in detail, and reach the grace of God.
