The Bible is our guide

in #steemchurch6 years ago

All of us who are genuine believers understand that writing is our guide. In it we find a number of promises and exhortations that tell us how we should conduct ourselves in this life. These promises are a precious gift from God for men. The apostle Paul tells Timothy: "All scripture is inspired by God, and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." (2 Timothy 3:16)

Many in the past wrote great works based on writing example of them being the fathers of the church, to whom they were called "post-apostles." Their writings have a very valuable meaning that can help us to expand our minds, to a certain extent. point, about the knowledge of God. However, none of these writings can claim to be inspired and none of them can quench the thirst and hunger of our souls. That can only and exclusively be done by the word of God, the bible.

Paul affirms that writing is: useful, that is, it is very profitable and of great benefit. God gave it for the teaching of man, it is through it that we know who God is and what God is like. It also teaches us about our beginning, the meaning of life and the end of all things. They reveal truth, they give us the principles and rules to live a life that pleases God.

The philosophers and masters of our times are ambitious and often make poignant demonstrations when speaking, but writing has its own order. The writing has a beautiful precision and a certainty that surpasses all philosophers, because it is the Holy Spirit speaking to us through it. The Bible speaks directly to us in an understandable way.

In addition to teaching us also to reproach us, this means that it convinces us of the error. We are reprimanded when we disobey the will of God. He corrects us, all of us at some point in our lives have made a mistake. When our children disobey us, as parents we are ready to correct them. This is our God, who is also our Father; He disciplines us through his word.

The Bible instructs us, that instruction is the process by which we are molded to maturity. They change us from sin to holiness, from unbelief to faith and from a life of evil to a life that glorifies God. That truth transforms us.

The goal to which the knowledge of the scriptures leads us is: "That the man of God may be perfect, fully prepared for every good work." (2 Tim.3: 17)

The message of the Bible in the life of a believer is double. First, that we are instructed in the law to love righteousness, because by nature we are not inclined to do so. Second, that we learn the simple rules of life so that we do not stumble on our way.

Now the question we must ask ourselves is: how important is the word of God in my life? If I say that I love Jesus, he would probably respond to us in the following way: "He who loves me will keep my word; and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our home with him. "(John 14:23)
