STEEMCHURCH: CHRISTIAN FREEDOM

FREEDOM

It is the ability of the human being to be able to act according to his own will, throughout his life.

According to the Royal Academy is what allows man to decide whether he wants to do something or not, that makes him free and also responsible for their actions.

Every person seeks his freedom, because freedom is the greatest virtue of the human being, and is very sought after by all those who are or consider themselves oppressed. But freedom in Christ is not the same as political freedom, economic or social condition. In fact, some of the most oppressed people in history have had complete freedom in Christ.

The bible tells us that, spiritually speaking, no one is free:

ROMANS 6: 15-23
Servants of justice
15 What, then? Shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? In no way.
16 Do you not know that if you submit yourselves as slaves to obey him, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, whether it be from sin to death, or from obedience to righteousness?
17 But thanks be to God, that even though you were slaves of sin, you have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered;
18 and freed from sin, you became servants of righteousness.
19 I speak as a human, because of your human weakness; for just as you presented your members for iniquity to serve uncleanness and iniquity, so now for sanctification, present your members to serve justice.
20 For when you were slaves of sin, you were free about righteousness.
21 But what fruit did you have of those things of which you are now ashamed? Because the end of them is death.
22 But now that you have been set free from sin and made servants of God, you have the fruit of sanctification and, as an end, eternal life.
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

In Romans 6, Paul explains that we are all slaves; we are slaves of sin or slaves of justice. Those who are slaves of sin can not free themselves from it, but once we are freed from sin through the cross, we become a different kind of slave, and it is in that bondage that we can find peace and the true freedom.

True freedom in Christ comes to those who are his slaves. Slaves of his teachings, of his love, of his hope of salvation and of his beatitudes.

The slave of Christ is truly free. We have been freed from sin by the son of God who said:

So if the Son liberates you, you will be truly free. John 8:36

In addition through our servitude to Christ, we also become children and heirs of the Most High God and as heirs, we are partakers of that inheritance, which is the eternal life that God gives to all his children. This is a privilege beyond any earthly treasure we can ever inherit, while those in bondage to sin will only inherit spiritual death and an eternity in hell and the world as we know it creates invisible bondages that can not be noticed, and there are many methods to enslave the children of God.

Therefore, there is no longer any condemnation for those who are united to Christ Jesus, because through him the law of the Spirit of life has set me free from the law of sin and death.
Romans 8: 1-2
