Now if it seems bad to you to serve jehovah choose for yourselves today whom you will serve, whether the gods that your forefathers served on the other side of the River or the gods of the Amʹor·ites in whose land you are dwelling. But as for me and my household, we will serve Jehovah.

Concerning the man named Daniel; the bible gives a vivi account. Daniel had been exiled along with many other Jews to Babylon. However, it turned out that a selection to breed; group of exceptional,young and strong men was made and they were to be groomed at the palace of the Babylonian King. Daniel's exceptional personality and conviction in the God he served actually began when he decides not to eat food sacrificed to the Babylonian idols, but choosing only to eat fruits and vegetables.

Daniel |:3-5 records that the King of Babylon ordered his chief of staff, to bring to the palace some of the young men of judah's royal family and other noble families, who had been brought to Babylon as captives. "Select only strong, healthy, and goodlooking young men," he said. "Make sure they are well versed in every branch of learning, are gifted with knowledge and good judgment, and are suited to serve in the royal palace.Train these young men in the language and literature of Babylon, The king assigned them a daily ration of food and wine from his own kitchens.They were to be trained for three years,and then they Would enter the royal service.

At the end of the period, Daniel and his Jewish friends turned outto be healthier and better than those who ate at the king's table however i am not fascinated by Daniel’s physical stature but rather at his level of excellence, because at the end of three years, God gave these four young men an unusual aptitude for understanding every aspect of literature and wisdom.And God gave Daniel the special ability to interpret the meanings of visions and dreams. In today’s modern society, it can be said that Daniel's products and services were ten times better that those of his competitors.You can imagine leaving all the people who are presently a threat to you as many as ten steps behind; how comforting that would be.

There is a reward for godly living; the moment you set yourself apart from the popular pattern of life,the result is always visible. Daniel and his three friends were not the only jews who were also selected, but the others forgot their godly beliefs and opted instead to have a good time at the king’s table while it lasted. Imagine having to eat just fruits and vegetable for three long yearsand having the knowledge that there was always a buffet of choice food on the king’s table and that they could have as much of it as they wanted.

The end,however, always guarantees an undeniable reward.
