BREAD FROM HEAVEN: COMBATING CHILD LABOR THROUGH IN EDUCATION IN VENEZUELA

in #steemchurch5 years ago (edited)

WELCOME TO THE BLOG OF STEEMCHURCH VENEZUELA @sc-v

Just a few days ago, on June 12, the World Day Against Child Labor was celebrated. In 2002, the International Labor Organization (ILO) decided to commemorate this day with the aim of raising awareness about this global problem and ways to eradicate it.

Child labor is any economic activity, paid or not, carried out by children under 18 years of age. Today there are millions of minors who are engaged in all kinds of jobs instead of education, fun and development.

The history of civilization records child labor exploitation in all cultures of the world. Children on several occasions perform tasks related to agriculture, industry, mining and informal economy, activities that undermine their rights and force them to play the role of adults, leaving aside their childhood. After a child goes to the street is very difficult to return to the heat of your home, and even less when it comes from dysfunctional families, where it is required to generate income.

The Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuelaestablishes as fundamental consideration the attention to the principle of the best interests of the child, ratified in the same way in the Organic Law for the Protection of Children and Adolescents (LOPNA).

In Latin America, it is estimated that close to 70% of children carry out some work at risk and in many cases of extreme exploitation. In addition, child labor in most cases involves physical risks, due to the manipulation of substances, the use of machinery, unfavorable weather conditions and often due to long working hours.

It is important to know that if we witness or witness a situation of exploitation or child labor we must go to the Council for Protection of Children, Girls and Adolescents of the corresponding municipality, to formulate the respective complaint.

From Steemchurch Venezuela through its social program "Bread From Heaven" we propose a way to combat child labor, through education, Christian values, initiation in technology, foster care programs and family strengthening.

The crisis forces children to become providers of entire families. These stories are repeated every day and it is common to see infants getting smaller and smaller. The deterioration of the quality of life, the constant increase in prices and the insufficiency of economic income are the main reasons why children are forced to assume commercial activities.

The search for sustenance has left the classrooms and playgrounds desolate in Venezuela. The most serious of all is that many citizens do not even know that it is something harmful.

Since 2007, the National Institute of Statistics (INE) has not offered official figures on child labor in Venezuela.

FROM CHILDREN TO ADULTS BY NECESSITY

The image of the boy selling sweets with his dad in the buses, the small one behind the counter of the warehouse or the young man in blue shirt who acts as a collector is common for Venezuelans. The streets of any city in the country became new homes for children, young people, many times even without and their families.

Child labor must be considered a priority in the struggles of governments, but in a country plunged into a complex humanitarian crisis there are many problems without solution.

School dropout, the main consequence

The main consequences of child labor are the abandonment of schooling and the combination of study with long working hours. Work does not allow children to recreate and directly attacks their fundamental rights. In Venezuela the situation is worrisome, according to the control of Fe y Alegría schools there is up to 70% of school absenteeism.

Immigration and child labor, the sad reality of Venezuelan children

Currently in Venezuela millions of people are affected by violence and an unprecedented economic, political and social crisis. The consequence has been a massive exodus of Venezuelans that brought child labor, one of the most urgent problems to be solved by the international community.

Recently 42 Venezuelan children were rescued by the Childhood and Adolescence Police in Barranquilla, the Colombian authorities declared that they were small, poorly fed and dressed in rags.

Also, according to a report by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and Unicef, Venezuelan children who are on the border with Brazil are exposed to labor exploitation and sexual violence. A study by the Thomson Reuters Foundation ensures that more than 1,000 children arrived in Roraima without identity documents and many did not have legal representatives either. The document states that these children are at greater risk of being victims of human trafficking. Migrants themselves are a vulnerable group, if you add the factor of childhood is even worse.

Sexual exploitation

When talking about child slavery, it is impossible to mention the issue of sexual exploitation in children and adolescents.

Converted into one of the most perverse forms of slavery, due to the silencing of the practice, sexual exploitation is an evil suffered by many Venezuelan children and young people.

Favors crime

Due to the innocence of children, it is common for some people to take advantage of them and persuade or cheat them to carry out activities for the benefit of other people, and many of these activities often go hand in hand with criminal practices.

Is the regulation of the Venezuelan State effective?

Child labor in Venezuela is regulated by the Convention on the Rights of the Child, international agreements and by the Organic Law for the Protection of Children and Adolescents (LOPNA). The National Constitution and the LOPNA prohibit work before 14 years of age, but these laws are not fulfilled, since Venezuelan families often find it necessary for all members of the family to produce the income they receive from the family. work of the children helps the subsistence of the home.

MANY HYPOTHESES OF HOW THE BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY CAN HELP COMBAT CHILD LABOR IN THE WORLD.

Many ways in which the blockchain can help eradicate child labor can first be used to manage resources that can be distributed for social projects, improve education and empower families in the world.

The Democratic Republic of the Congo is infamous for the use of child labor in cobalt mines, and the industry, which supplies the raw materials that go into consumer electronics and electric cars, has attracted the attention of human rights groups.

"Blockchain is the most effective technology to provide real-time access to all due diligence processes, give visibility to the supply chain of miners in the market," Chawla said. "Our role at IBM is that we are bringing people together for this project and the development of the platform."

It is necessary to combine efforts to fight against child labor
"We can not tackle child labor in isolation and expect to achieve impressive results," said Susan Bissell, UNICEF'shead of child protection worldwide. "This conference presents the opportunity to emphasize the urgent need to combine our efforts to combat child labor and end violence against children, as well as to strengthen national systems for the protection of children."

We must all be aware that we can do something for some child, they are the future of our countries and we have to give everything to add value to their lives. The support of our brothers is what keeps us standing, fighting against this social monster . For this reason, our goal is: NOT ONE MORE CHILD: SAY NO TO CHILD LABOR. Join the BREAD FROM HEAVENCause through the available channels and become a supportive Spokesperson.

WE WILL REACH CROWDS IN THE CRUSADE OF FREEDOM.

What to do now?

@Sc-v, will be in the communities and rural areas implementing social work and our educational campaigns, to which we will integrate Steemchurch Telos, this is a wonderful opportunity to grow, to bring hope to many people, children are the fundamental pillars to build that desired future.

SteemChurch Telos Expansion:

Your NEW SteemChurch Telos account The SteemChurch Telos expansion is about establishing ourselves on a new platform capable of facilitating commerce, banking, commerce and logistics - opening up many more opportunities than social media and blogs.

Telos is one of the most advanced blockchains on the planet. Incredibly fast and highly scalable. Built from the same blockchain architecture as EOS, Telos can do everything EOS can do. At the moment, however, Telos is relatively unknown and resources are cheap. Which means that we are establishing here at an ideal time.

For the first access to your account we recommend that you download SQRL to your PC.
