FRIENDS OF THE PEOPLE

Greetings Friends of SteemChurch.

The poor are avoided even by their own neighbors, but innumerable are the friends of the rich.
Proverbs 14.20

We know that the word "friends" in this proverb must be interpreted as if it were in quotation marks. Friends really do not know what categorizations they are. We are not friends of the poor or rich. We are not friends of believers or rich people. We are not friends of doctors or illiterates. We are friends of people.

Each person plays his social role, his expression of living. If we relate to social roles, we can not consider that friendship. If in these relationships there are interests, objectives, transactions, exchanges, obligations and counterparts, they are of another order that does not attend by the name of friendship.

If we take into consideration Jesus himself in his conversations with the disciples, He left very explicit that they were considered friends. There was great honesty coming from one another in the belief of the deeds of Jesus, as the Word of the Father directly shared Christ with them.

There was no strict relationship of boss and servant, between roles, but of friends, who with love shared the word of God's truth.

A friendship relationship is not based on roles, so friends may have different ideals, different ideologies, different political thoughts, different morals and even different religions, but still remain friends.

The friend who is a friend is simply that. You are not interested / concerned in categorizing or characterizing your friend. He simply calls him friend or friend.

Be like Jesus Christ. Do not reflect or fit in certain labels or companies that will make you only object of interest or disposable uses. Be a friend of people, not of their social roles, because it is in this environment that the most beautiful and lasting aid of the walk of relational life is born. - Attention! Many friendships can lead to ruin, but there is a friend closer than a brother. Proverbs 18.24
