As Christians, we are called to live a lifestyle consistent with our new identity in Jesus Christ.

Wherefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old things are passed away; behold, they are become new. But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and gave unto us the ministry of reconciliation; to wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, not reckoning unto them their trespasses, and having committed unto us the word of reconciliation.We are ambassadors therefore on behalf of Christ, as though God were entreating by us: we beseech you on behalf of Christ, be ye reconciled to God. 2 Corinthians 5:17-20

We can observe in the previous verse, the Apostle. Paul explained the importance of giving up the residual sin that exists in our current life and the old habits that are not worthy of a representative of the kingdom of God. But, as always, what matters is God still More than our external behavior is the attitude of our heart.

Look for a moment. These are some of the characteristics of a life worthy of those chosen by God, holy and loved by the father: humility, meekness, patience, benevolence, mercy.

We must ask the Lord to reveal to him the values that characterize the heart of Jesus. Are you a person characterized by meekness and patience? Would you say that you are merciful to others? Can you listen with benevolence and humility?

Forbearing one another, and forgiving each other, if any man have a complaint against any; even as [a]the Lord forgave you, so also do ye.
Colossians 3:13

Sometimes we think that as we continue praising God, we are in the first place in the Lord in our lives. But all the praise of the world can never compensate for the lack of unity or the unwillingness to carry on healthy relationships.

Are you aware that if you do not have a neighbor as yourself, I am not even giving you honor and glory to God? Is there someone God asks you to support or forgive? You can not control the other person's reaction, but you can do your part and leave the rest in the hands of God.

And above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfectness.
Colossians 3:14

If we want to be people who bring the kingdom of God to society, it is not enough to forgive those who forgave us, we must ask God to amplify our hearts even more. What is mentioned by the apostle Paul is very strong: "cover yourself with love". It is a choice we can make, and if we choose them, our hearts will be transformed.

And let the peace of Christ [a]rule in your hearts, to the which also ye were called in one body; and be ye thankful.
Colossians 3:15

The kingdom of God is a kingdom of peace. God wants the marine ambassadors of his peace and to show our gratitude for having found true peace in our hearts in Christ, even when peace does not reign.

What will change with our decisions not only seek to care for our welfare, but also for the welfare of others? I encourage you to take time to ask Try to ask yourself: how could it be?
