The Church and its authority.
Greetings my brothers from Steemit especially to what is congregated in Steemchurch, today I want to share a topic about the authority that the church of the Lord Jesus Christ has.
When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?”They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
“But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”
Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades[b] will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be[d] loosed in heaven.”
Matthew 16: 13-19
Wandering a moment in time, we can see this scene: during the hottest hours of the day in Caesarea, Jesus - exhausted by the heat - sits with his disciples in the cool of a sycamore tree; Then, he asks them: "Who does the people say I am?" They respond: "Some say you are John the Baptist, others Elijah or one of the prophets ..."; but it continues urgently: "And you, who do you say that I am?"
From that difficult question, which could only be answered behind the divine inspiration, a long time has passed. Century after century, humanity has been moving along with positive and negative experiences; However, Jesus' question resonates constantly through the past ages ... We are in the 21st century and Jesus is still addressing us (His disciples) the same question. The ancient world and the modern era do not recognize it as God; but we, together with Peter, want to reiterate with all the voice: "you are THE CHRIST, THE SON OF THE LIVING GOD!".
For all those who recognize him as God, Christ has given the privilege of being His Bride, the living stones of His temple.
We all know what Jesus answered Peter. "
Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter,[a] and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
Matthew 16: 17-18
The traditional church has given some interpretations in this respect, affirming, among other things, that Peter is the stone on which the church of God is based; However, this was not what Jesus and Peter himself thought.
the name "Peter" means "Stone or rock" and represents spiritually the divine revelation received from the apostle.
In each of us there is one of these small rocks and it is in it where God wants to build his temple. Thus, we, as living stones, are built on Christ Jesus, the quadrangular stone, to be His house, His room.
But is our "home" willing to glorify it? God has also made us his city, in which he walks and whose architect and founder is God himself.
MY HOME ... MY CHURCH ... that is; MY GIRLFRIEND!
Knowing that she has been chosen to be the Bride of Christ is undoubtedly the greatest honor the Christian can receive. Nothing more than this can fill our hearts with joy! It is the highest position we could reach and the most golden and wonderful destination that could happen to us throughout eternity.
Sometimes, on the other hand, we act like widows without hope. Probably, we are not very aware of our role and our tasks. Christ has clothed us with HIS AUTHORITY and, as a symbol of it, they are the keys of the kingdom of heaven He has given us.
With these keys, we, the Bride of Jesus Christ, have received the divine authority to open or close ... it depends on us. Our thoughts, our actions, if used in their power, are the keys that can dissolve the dark chains of sin and bind all the satanic principalities and powers that are trying to influence us, afflict us, destroy us: it is about a "fight against the evil spirits that are in the air".
Even in negative circumstances, dear brothers and dear sisters, you must know that you have full authority to dissolve the bonds that separate you from God.
Do not let yourself be overwhelmed by situations, do not immerse yourself in the waves of life! You are in possession of the keys of the authority that the Lord Himself has given you to use, not to guard it jealously in a corner of your heart!
We implement the divine plan in us. He wants instruments of His authority, His strength, His victory! Hallelujah! Glorify God for that.
Having been saved to save, or better to lead others to salvation, we want to use this power to free souls from the bondage of the devil, so that they have the freedom to enter the kingdom of heaven.
Jesus himself encourages us to fulfill this task, with his promise still present and effective today: "Behold, I have given you authority to cast out serpents and scorpions and all the power of the enemy, and nothing can harm you."
Do we believe in the words of Jesus?
To believe is to make an effect: this is the secret of a victorious Christian life.

God gave authority to his church, authority is not to lord it over, but to serve. When God delegates authority to me, he is demonstrating that he trusts me. But above all, let us understand what Jesus said should be our greatest joy, to be possessors of his authority. Luke 10:17:20.
