Anger: anger breeds danger to you

Anger magnets or attracts danger. Show me an angry man, and I will show you a dangerous man. Now, to be angry is to lose control of yourself and by so doing; you become so dangerous. Anger makes you lose your sense of reasoning and makes you act rashly or stupidly. It affects both your psyche and your appearance. One of the striking things anger does to you is that it makes you make a mess of yourself or disgrace yourself. And to Cain, it was said : Genesis 4:5-6 KJV

But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? You can see what anger did to him ....and his countenance fell. Anger can rubbish your title, position or even your status. That is, it could make someone who is in an esteem position, has a suitable title or is highly regarded to rubbish or make a fool of his or herself.

This was not different from what happened to Moses: Numbers 20:11 KJV
And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also .Moses was highly esteemed by God as the meekest man on earth. However, anger rubbished his reputation. He angrily struck the rock twice as against speaking to it, as instructed by God.

Honey, anything done in anger is dangerous, even when you think that you have gotten the desired result like Moses ....and the water came out abundantly....
Much as we are told we could get angry, we should, however; make sure that our anger does not lead us into doing the wrong thing and even in doing or saying the right thing; we should learn not to do it in anger but with love.

Anger breeds danger to others
It is a clear fact that anger can make you do something stupid to the person who provoked your anger. However, it is imperative to note that anger could also have a backlash or spillover effect That is, you could be seen transferring aggression to a third party, who was not instrumental to the provocation.

This was what transpired in the case of Cain's anger. Cain was angry with the fact that God rejected his sacrifice. In fact, God categorically told him the reason for the rejection: Genesis 4:7a If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door....

Now, because anger always looks for whom to transfer aggression to, Abel had to come into the picture. He became the recipient of Cain's anger: Genesis 4:8 KJV
And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

Ugh! The only offence Abel committed was that his sacrifice was accepted by God. Cain had to kill him because he was annoyed that his own sacrifice was rejected. Sweetie, are there not so many times you have transferred aggression to an innocent person because you were annoyed. Most times, we look for whom to cast blame upon when we are annoyed.

See, in times of frustration; it is the innocent that bears the brunt of our annoyance.

Dear, we could also clearly express cur anger on those that provoked it just as in the case of Moses:Numbers 20:10 KJV
And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?

As you can see, he began to direct his anger towards the congregation.

Beloved, be mindful for your anger can go a long way to puncture the reputation you have built over the years like Moses.
Directing your anger towards others can really affect their perspective and regard of you.

Sort:

This is so true, anger is given by God to react but we must learn how to control ourselves,we must have self control,Ephesians 4:26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

Anger and anger are Obtacles that take us away from God, Moses lost the blessing of entering the promised land with life and only God allowed him to see her from afar, although later he entered when Jesus was with him and Elijah in the transfiguration, great is the mercy of God.
