For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6
God names people according to His purpose for their lives. He changed Abram's name to Abraham, and Sarai's to Sarah to suit their destinies (Gen. 17:5, 15). The prophet Isaiah said of Jesus, "His name shall be called WONDERFUL... " That means, His name is not ordinary; it is full of wonders. While praying in Acts 4:30, the disciples said:
By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.
Signs and wonders are rooted in the name of Jesus. The eruption of miracles, signs and wonders in the Acts of the Apostles was as a result of the use of the name of Jesus. In Acts 3:6, Peter said to the lame man at the beautiful gate:
...Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
Note that he said, "Such as I have... " That is because he Had Possession of the name as an instrument for working signs
When the disciples were brought before a panel to defend the miracle, Peter said:
Be it known unto you all that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole Acts 4:10

The name of Jesus is enough to silence all the roaring, howling and noisome pestilences of your life; it is equal to any task it might be required to perform. The name of Jesus produces immediate results. When the lame man at the Beautiful Gate was healed, the Bible records in Acts 3: 7, And immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength " and in Acts 9:34, when Peter prayed for Aeneas, we were told,
He arose immediately " That gives you an idea of how powerful the name of Jesus is; it causes immediate releases!
The name of Jesus also destroys yokes. In Luke 10:17, the disciples said to Jesus, "...Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name." Isaiah 59: 19 tells us that the Spirit of God raises a standard against the devil our enemy. That means the name of Jesus also commands the effectual working of the Spirit of God against the enemy.
The Uniqueness Of The Name
There are several factors that make the name of Jesus unique, that make it a power-conducting name. Let us consider a few of them:
It Is A Gift From God
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; Philippians
God gave Jesus that name! While tellmg Joseph about Mary's conception of Jesus, Angel Gabriel said, "And she shall bnng forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS... (Matt. 1:21). We know the gifts and callings of God are without repentance No wonder the name has not changed, but is still full oi wonders (Heb. 13:8)!

It Is Self-anointed
Christ means the Anointed One. That means there is an anointing built into that name that makes it peculiar and strange. Songs Of Solomon 1:3 says:
Because of the savour of thy good ointments thy name is as ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love thee.
Yokes are destroyed because of the anointing (Isa. 10:27), and we see this happen once and again in the book of Acts, as the disciples use the name of Jesus to set men free. This proves that the name Jesus is self-anointed.
Puts The Angels To Work
And again, when he bringeth in the into the world, he saith, And Iet all the angels of God
him worship-Hebrews 1:6
That means all the angelic hosts stand at attention to orders when the name of Jesus is mentioned. They in to intervene in situations and bring deliverance once that name is invoked in the face of any opposition

When I studied this subject I realised that the Name of Jesus is vital to the Christian walk. When we look at "The Wonderful Name of Jesus", we’re seeing, not only His name but, His very being, His Character and His attributes, His Power, His reason for existence. Every name in the bible is with meaning and reveals to us a lot about the person that bears it.
Names are obtained through three means: 1. Birth. 2. Inheritance 3. Achievement
Jesus obtained His name through these means: by birth – Lk1:31, Is9:6, by inheritance – Heb1:4 and by achievement – Phil2:9-11
Names are given for three main reasons: 1. Identification 2. Office 3. Description
Identification: A Name in Bible times is given to identify a person. Jesus name uniquely identify Him. He was given a name that is above every other name – Acts4:12, Phil2:9-11, .
Office: When a person is appointed to a position or an office, He is given a name to signify that position or office – Lk1:31-33.
Description: Names not only identify a person but also tell us of their character as well – Is9:6.
That name of jesus, it is higher and greater than all other names, it is not just a common name, it is a name full with power.

Extraordinary post @tikhub. What a brilliant name is Jesus and what awesome power accompanies it. That is the reason we christian closures our supplications and petitions with 'for the sake of Jesus' since we loyally put stock in the energy of His name. Ameen !!
I grew up in a Christian home and we fear and reverence God. I got so used to using the name of Jesus as a weapon. It has always worked for me and I bet He has not stopped being a miracle worker. You can't fight the devil with gun, you only fight with the name above all names.
indeed God is wonderful because he is power. if we put our trust in God, he will see us through. God name is stronger than any name. the bible said by the mansion of his name, all needs shall bow.
