Today I decide to forgive

Sometimes we are very unfair with forgiveness, God has forgiven all our sins and healed our wounds, but it is very difficult for us to forgive the one who did something that hurt us a lot.

And I say that we are unjust with forgiveness, because we like God to forgive us, but we do not like to forgive.

I often see and hear people who are supposed to "have forgiven", but their words, their sentences denote that what exists in their heart, is truly unforgiveness.

When we forgive someone, we do not have to go around showing what they did to us, do not we forgive him now? Why walk around reminding him of what he can do? That is being unfair, because God does not walk us remembering our sins at every moment as reason to accuse and make us feel bad, on the contrary, God forgets our sins and makes us new creatures.

Reflecting on the forgiveness that we unjustly do not grant, it takes me to the Word of God, especially to the passage of the servant who was forgiven, but he did not want to forgive.

Matthew 18: 21-35 "Then Peter approached Jesus and asked him," Lord, if a member of the church does something bad to me, how many times should I forgive him? Only seven times? Jesus replied: "It is not enough to forgive the brother only seven times. You have to forgive him again and again; that is, always. "

Something similar to what once happened in a country happens in the kingdom of God. The king sent for his employees to inform him how their business was going and to pay him all that they owed him. When he began to take out accounts, they brought him an employee who owed him sixty million silver coins. Since the employee had no money to pay, the king ordered that he be sold as a slave, along with his wife and children, and that they also sell everything he had. Thus, with the money from that sale, the debt would be paid. "

But the clerk knelt before the king and begged him, "Sir, give me a little more time and I will pay him all that I owe him." The king felt compassion for his servant and said: "Go quiet; I forgive you for all you owe me. "" Upon leaving the palace of the king, that employee met a companion who owed him a hundred pieces of silver. He grabbed him by the neck and said, "Pay me right now what you owe me!" The companion knelt down in front of him and begged him, "Give me a little more time and I'll pay you all." But that employee he did not want to give him time, and ordered that they put his companion in jail, until he paid the money he owed him. "The other companions, seeing what had happened, got very upset and went to tell the king." Then the King sent for that employee and said: "How wicked you are! I forgave you all you owed me, because you begged me.

Why did not you have compassion on your partner, just as I had on you? "The king was furious, and ordered that they punish that employee until he paid everything he owed him. Jesus ended by saying: "God my Father will do the same with each one of you, if you do not sincerely forgive your brother.".

I believe that the story told in the Bible is very clear, that's also why I chose the version Current Language Translation so that reading it could be even more understandable to our times.

How many of us are like that servant who was forgiven? God forgave us things that we thought could not be forgiven, our sins were not a reason to be proud, but they embarrassed us, but God had compassion on us and we totally forgave ourselves. sins But now that God has forgiven us, what forgiveness are we giving to those who sinned against us?

It is incredible to see how people who have been forgiven by God for all their sins, today can not forgive the person who did something against him or her. It can be perceived through the words that come from those people's mouths towards that person whom they have not forgiven, who nest in their heart that lack of forgiveness that although they want to deny, they do not let them live a free life in God.
The lack of forgiveness is one of the reasons why people can not experience total joy in their lives. Usually people who have not been able to forgive and still feel certain negative feelings towards those who have sinned against them, are bitter people, angry people, impulsive people who explode anything.

And it is that the lack of forgiveness towards those who one day failed us is like a cancer that is gradually attacking our spiritual life and if it will destroy us if possible.

And it is that the Spirit of God can not move freely in the life of a person who can not forgive. When God called you, he made you FREE and that freedom is what you have to take care of so that it always remains, but when you do not forgive, you are a slave of that person whom you can not forgive. And slave because every bad thing that happens to you or similar to what happened to that person, will bring to your mind the image of that person that you can not forgive. Possibly you will be smiling and remembering that person you can not forgive, your smile will become a face of few friends. Why be a slave to rancor or hate? When you can be a compassionate and merciful person, just as God did with you.

Maybe up to this point you say: "It is that what he did to me does not deserve forgiveness", or "It is that to date he has never asked for forgiveness for what he did to me", I want you to know that this person does not necessarily have to go before of you and humble yourself so you can forgive her. Maybe for a long time you have waited for that person to look for you and ask you for forgiveness and if you are on your knees it's better, but that has not happened, and maybe that's one of the reasons why your life can not experience joy to the fullest, because you are still tied to that lack of forgiveness towards that person.

I want you to understand something: To forgive you do not need that person to get to you, because, what if that person does not even live ?, What if that person is humanly impossible to get where you ?, or What's up? if that person even forgot what he did to you one day? Who is the most affected in all this? YOU.

You are the most injured or the most harmed, because it is you and nothing but you who still nests those feelings of unforgiveness towards that person. Why do you keep enslaving the lack of forgiveness?

One day I heard a sentence like this: "Having a grudge or envy is like taking poison yourself and waiting for the other to die." How much truth there is in this phrase! Yes, because it is equally the lack of forgiveness, it is like taking poison yourself, because the only one harmed by not forgiving is ONE.

Very good reflection @williammarin, forgiveness is a mandate from God to also release our lives and we can reach the true peace that God gives us, we also need to forgive to gain access to the blessings that God has for each of us, the lack of forgiveness limits our blessings
