STEEMCHURCH: Believing to see.

in #steemchurch6 years ago

Hello my dear brothers of @steemchurch and @sc-v, says the bible in John 20:29 "Jesus said to him: Because you have seen me, Thomas, you believed; Blessed are those who did not see, and believed".

Generally most people can believe what they have seen, we give credit only to what is humanly possible, but what can not be proven is hard to believe.

You hear expressions like until you see, do not believe, and most of us are like that. In this passage Jesus appears to his disciples after the resurrection and shows them that he is alive, that death could not overcome him but one of them called takes was not in that moment, when the other disciples told him we have seen the master he does not think he can be the one, for him it is impossible for Jesus to be and he says if I do not put my finger in the hollows of his hands and in his side I do not believe.

After eight days Jesus appears again to them and there he was taking, Jesus says tomas put your finger in the hollows of my hands and check that it is me and do not be more incredulous. And you take says my Lord and my God, then Jesus tells you what we just read at the beginning.

But like Thomas, many of us wait.

Seeing is believing.

Many of us follow the same attitude as Thomas, we hope to see in order to believe and it should not be like that, on the contrary, we must believe if we want to see. We can not believe when our reasoning is impossible, if it is not possible humanly then we do not believe, you said it is impossible that he was resurrected, that was not Jesus, although he knew that he would be resurrected but could not believe that it had happened.

We need to believe in order to see.

You need to place your trust in the Lord if you want to see God at work in your life, you need to believe that he can do it, you have to believe the first thing so you can see it, otherwise it will be impossible.

There is a story in John 11 where it is said that Lazarus was dead, Jesus had been warned that Lazarus was sick and he stayed two more days in the place where he was, Lazarus worsened and died, then Jesus returns and Marta comes out to meet him. of Lazaro's sisters and tell him if you had been here Lazaro would not have died, Marta sends for Maria and Maria comes and says the same thing Marta said to Jesus, if you had been here my brother would not have died, Maria was crying and everyone who had come with her also cried and Jesus seeing them cry the bible says he wept too. Some say that he cried out of compassion others say he cried because of people's disbelief.

Then Jesus goes to where Lazarus is dead and tells them to remove the stone and Mary says, Lord already stink because he has 4 days and Jesus says "I have not told you that if you believe you will see the glory of God".

We have to believe the Lord, believe his word, he can do everything, he is alive, he is real and can do anything in your life if you can believe it.

There are people who want to see miracles to believe in God, they want to see special things in their lives to believe God, they want to feel a special touch in their lives to believe God and it is not, we must believe in it if we want to see or feel all that we want. If we want to see him acting in our favor.

I tell you something...

If you do not believe now that you do not see, so you look you will not believe or believe for a moment and then stop doing it.

There are people who say if I see something then if I believe, if God does something for me then I believe, but it is not so, when there is disbelief in your life even if you see things you will not believe.

There is a passage in Exodus 19 where he relates how God descended on Mount Sinai and spoke with Moses, the Bible describes how the mountain smoked and shuddered at the presence of the Lord.

The people of Israel were observing from below how the mountain was like a candle, like a fire, they knew that it was God himself who was there, so the Bible tells Deuteronomy 5:18, they were seeing it with their eyes and they were afraid of God.

But something happens after all this, God was giving the laws to the people, the ten commandments and all the laws that he gave to the people of Israel, Moses took a long time, the bible says that they were 40 days and as a bassinet did not lower the The Bible says that the people stopped believing in God and told Aaron to make them a golden calf to be their god and guide them from there on.

They had seen the same manifestation of the living in the mountain, but even so, although they were seeing it, it did not help them, then they stopped believing in it, they forgot it.

On this same night Jesus himself could come and present us here and still not believe in him, or believe for a while and then for the eagerness of the world to stop believing him. We are very hard, we resist the Lord, we resist him, we do not believe him, we do not want to obey him, we do not want to do his will recorded in his word. In the passage we read at the beginning Jesus says: "Blessed are those who believe if they see".

Blessed are those who believe without seeing.

Jesus tells Thomas happy those who believe without looking. Listen to this, when you do not see things happen in your life but you still believe, Jesus says, you are a blessed because you have true faith. You are not seeing it but you still believe then you are blessed.

You are going through a difficult time in your life but still believe in God.
You are going through illness and you continue to believe that the Lord can heal.
You are going through financial problems but you still believe that God is a provider.
You believe so do not look and God is watching you.

Sort:

There may be many obstacles that you have in the present time, and maybe you may despair in the middle of the trials, or that your struggles seem to have no end. The truth is that this life is full of difficulties, but God gives us the spiritual weapons to overcome these difficulties (Ephesians 6, 10-19). I do not have to remind you that the most powerful weapon that we have is our faith, but for its potential it is much greater when we are aware that in truth those who believe everything are possible.

In Truth, Is Everything Possible When We Believe In God?

As a Christian you will always have your challenges and only living a life of faith is that we can overcome each difficulty, do not think about how big your problem is, think about the great power and love of the one who has the solution, God, the one who loves you so much that he died for you just to show you his great love and that he always takes care of you, remember that if you can believe everything is possible for you since he gives you strength.

He who believes will see the glory of God. It seems easy to say I believe, but when it is happening through the time of illness, of poverty, of pain it is difficult to believe. Only those who believe in God will be protagonists of the greatest miracles.

From the world perspective seeing is believing but that's not the case in God. Believing is seeing and that's what faith is about. I love the story of the blind man Bartimeus in Mark 10:46. This blind man had faith when he heard about Jesus and acted upon his faith when he had not even seen Jesus. His faith brought his miracle and was made whole.
And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the roadside begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, you son of David, have mercy on me. And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, You son of David, have mercy on me. And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they called the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calls you. And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus. And Jesus answered and said unto him, What will you that I should do unto you? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight. And Jesus said unto him, Go your way; your faith has made you whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way. Mark 10:46-52
That should be our attitude in our walk with God. We must walk by faith not by sight. Thanks for sharing with us this message @xioran

A faith, that nails the doors of doubt shut and then calmly leaves the rest to God. That’s the kind of faith that God tells us Abraham had, and it so impressed God that Abraham earned the title: “The father of all who believe” (Romans 4:11)

what we believe is what we will surely receive, therefore let there not arise any doubt in our heart against the promises of God we should stay stedfast and strong and lean on the laws the word gives to us to carry on

Beautiful post. Believing without having seen is synonymous with having faith, and we all know that it is by faith that we can relate to God and live the adventure of Christianity. When we believe God, we begin to see his hand act on us. When we trust Him, we begin to experience His direction. By having faith, we see God act at all times.

Thanks for sharing. Listen to this, when you do not see things happen in your life but you still believe, Jesus says, you are a blessed because you have true faith. You are not seeing it but you still believe then you are blessed.

Logic, the safe and the concrete are not always a guarantee of wisdom. It was the faith of those who believed without seeing the one who created the inventions that changed the history of human possibilities or formulated theories that changed the course of science. The disciples of Jesus Christ are urged to walk not by sight, but by faith. To look with spiritual eyes what natural eyes can not see.

He who accepts will see the greatness of God. It appears to be anything but difficult to state I accept, however when it is going on through the season of ailment, of neediness, of torment it is hard to accept. Just the individuals who put stock in God will be heroes of the best wonders.

I heard a theory one day that said no one will be upset that they are outside the gates of Heaven when judgement comes because they will not want to be. Meaning no one will be left behind kicking and screaming. All of those that will be left out of the Kingdom wouldn't want it any other way. I don't know how fully I believe that but it does make sense that the skeptics will remain skeptic and they will deny Jesus to the very end. Basically, they will see and still choose not to believe. SO even though those that believe without seeing are blessed, those that see and believe are still saved. Better than seeing and not believing I suppose.
