STEEM FEST³ a region in Central Europe, is waiting for you... HomeArtPictures Originalcontent
Dear Steemians,
some of you will be attending SteemFest³ in Kraków. Unfortunately I can not be there, so I was already in the region of Lower and Upper Silesia in order to show you some impressions of this region.
Although Kraków (which is only about 270 km away) does not belong to these two regions, its architecture resembles that of Lower and Upper Silesia. In addition to many old, renovated buildings, there are still houses whose last renovation took place before the war.
What is particularly striking is the fact that much effort is made to keep the buildings as far as possible in the original. Similar to the Saxon town of Görlitz (which often serves as a cinema screen because it was not destroyed in the war), such old towns can be found in Silesia
In addition to Breslau (pol. Wrocław), Waldenburg (pol. Wałbrzych) and Schweidnitz (pol. Swidnica) in Lower Silesia, cities such as Kattowitz (pol. Katowice), Oppeln (pol. Opole) and Sankt Annaberg (Góra Świętej Anny ) to the pearls of architecture in the Silesian countryside.
It is a wonderful experience to visit these ancient cities and suddenly become part of their history. Every corner is waiting for something new / old to be discovered. The facades tell the changing history of these places.
Despite the fact that we as Germans have brought much suffering over this region, we are very welcome here. The loving nature and hospitality of the Silesian population is admirable and immediately makes you feel comfortable here. What has remained behind in recent history is the German language, which is still popular here.
What you should definitely try on the SteemFest³ in Krakow, is the Polish cuisine. In short, it would be so hearty, delicious and prepared with love. Even in the kitchen, a strong German influence can not be denied, but the Poles have this refined and brought to perfection.
So dear Steemians and visitors of SteemFest³, look forward to a wonderful time in Krakow. Walk through this region in the middle of Europe with open eyes and get to know the lovely people who live there. You will see, you are welcome in the homeland of my ancestors. Steem ON !!!
