RE: Steemgar Development Update

in #steemgar6 years ago

I've checked out agar.io and i think it's really a cool game and a nice initiative. BUT i don't support the idea of this game being created on the steem blockchain. Steem on the Steem blockchain was created to be mined by the "proof of brain" system through blogging and writing. I think creating a game on the steem blockchain is really not working along with this plan @crypyoctopus. If more platforms like this are created on the steem blockchain, i believe that the system will change from what it was originally created for. I believe you see a little light in what i am trying yo say @cryptoctopus. Making me understand better and clearing the ideas (which may be wrong) i have in my head will be greatly appreciated.

What do you think about DLive, DTube, Dmania, Utopian.io etc? They are really far from writing and blogging too and they are created on the Steem Blockchain.

Everything can change, evolve. It really depends on what people want, what kind of ideas they have. I'm really happy for DLive for example as well and love to see new projects like steemgar too. I'm sure I'm not alone with this.

See your point as well, @cryptobserver. I totally support all these projects as well. I just believe it's going too far. I hope somebody sees my point

I think that most people genuinely enjoy gaming more than they do reading about the latest shitcoin someone is trying to shill. To each their own I guess.

Blockchains just offer forms of accounting for now, advanced blockchains with even lower than 3 sec block time would be ideal to host game data on for game stats, right now steemgar just seems to connect to the blockchain in the capacity of announcing the winners, and that's fine. Speaking of, it seems to have not posted the winning message a few times... but I guess that's an issue they're trying to fix.

I see where you are going @charitybot and i totally agree with you.
My point though is the idea on the game being on the STEEM BLOCKCHAIN
I totally support crypto gaming and blockchain based games that are on other platforms and are backed by other cryptocurrencies.
What i am trying to say is, STEEM blockchain was not created for this.
Still stand corrected. The Steemit Pundit

Ethereum wasn't created to be an ICO machine and here we are. Bitcoin was created to be a peer to peer digital cash and now it's use for everything under the sun (see colored coin, etc). The internet was never planned to be used by so much porn and cat videos...yet this is where we are.

Well, true actually. Everything changes to fit the new system.

i disagree with your thoughts steemit pundit because you think that brain not used while playing the game, i suggest you consider playing the game first and you will observe that this is totally brain game and the one who has most powerful brain can win the game.

From the Steem Whitepaper

Man, that's a really abstract Abstract.

If we assume that at the end of the day, Steem's value is dependent on the value of the platform, which it must be since more STEEM means more influence, and this influence is worth more if the platform is worth more, then any activity which makes people spend more time on Steemit or other Steem-based platforms will increase Steem's value.
