I'm an outsider, but also not; have close friends deep in the industry; changes will happen but still it looks like an artist need to know the right people, and the right people need to know the artist (or the people working with and for the artist); only then things can happen; at least speaking from a job from which an artist can make a living without having to do side jobs.
Seems to be more useful then many other initiatives in the industry :)
