Apps that is related to meatspace activities fully depends on the Network Effect to be ubiquitously useful. I can understand they are incorporating blockchain and tokens to boost user adoption and retention.

Pros:

• Like Meetup but way more casual
• Networking app that caters to people not "looking for a good time"

Cons:

• Competition with similar apps that makes the apps non-ubiquitous.

Overall if I'm moving to a big modern city and wants to bootstrap a social network i'll surely be installing this app along with the others.
