Huawei has been doing some amazing things lately and this looks like it is going to be a pretty decent competitor for the other ones that are coming on the market. Personally, I am not sure I see the point of a foldable phone like this. I could be wrong. Maybe in the future when I can afford to get my hands on one of them I will be able to see some of the benefits. It just seems like more square inches to scratch and damage right now. Pricing is going to be an issue for a lot of people. At the end of the day, it is still exciting to see the innovations that they are bringing forth with each new generation of smart phone.
Right now foldable smartphones are just like any other luxurious gadget, Though the benefits would be, fitting a much bigger display in a small phone(fitting an 8 inch display in a pocket is quite impressive), protecting the main big display when phone is folded, the galaxy fold does this well. There are some compromises of course and if these compromises outweigh the benefits of a foldable smartphone, These will become just like any other tech fad.
Otherwise it could be the beginning of a big change in the design and usability of smartphones. let's wait and see.

No problem, thanks for the reply! I get what you are saying. If they can match the quality of something as big as an iPad while still allowing for portability I think that would be great. As you said, only time will tell.
